View Full Version : If Iguodala goes Vince Carter could be an option....

With the way the Nets are cleaning house and praying that in the long run it lands them LeBron James, I would not be surprised if they started shopping Vince Carter. If the Clippers offer Andre Iguodala a ridiculous contract the Sixers might think about sticking the Clippers with the contract and getting a shooting guard with a better oustide game than Iguodala has. Being that Stefanski was the one who got Vince Carter to New Jersey, I think it makes sense to believe that he could grab him again by bringing him to Philly to team up with Elton Brand. A move like this would give the Sixers a more than legitimate chance to come out of the Eastern Conference.

Why do you think the Nets are shopping him, He takes the worst shots, too many bad 3 pointers, And he plays no defense. He would'nt fit in what we are trying to do

My players I want for Iggy probably more to come but for right now

Roy.

I would even take Rudy Gay.

Hey Jamool the only way we could get Vince Carter would be to sign and Trade Iggy for him and that would make no sense.

BChydro86

well, those teams wouldnt trade those guys for iggy.

and i dont think id go with rudy gay for iggy just because we still wouldnt have a 2-guard.

I honestly think everyone will be so sick to there stomach for constantly thinking about trading Iggy once they see how good a year he'll have this year. PLEASE! I BEG PLEASE! SHUT UP ABOUT TRADING IGGY!

Vince Carter would come here and be motivated for all of 5 minutes of his first game then the tank would be on empty for the rest of the season....

Well Id rather have Iggy too, but in all fairness.....the Nets are shopping him to get LeBron and how hard do you think he tried last year as opposed to how hard he'd try with the Sixers....sounds bad but its true.

Vince Carter? Vince Carter....? Seriously....Vince Carter?

Come on, this guy can shoot when he's on but his shot selection is horrible and his defense is suspect at best. He's a player who gives 80% playing in a league where you have to give all you got.

I had a wet dream the other night. My dream had the Sixers strutting out a line up of Andre Miller, Kevin Martin, Thaddeus Young, Elton Brand, and Samuel Dalembert. Although like my first wet dream, this one will not come true...

Roy. yes
Martin. HELL NO, the dude is a great scoer, but his all around game and defensive game CANNOT TOUCH IGGYS. people dont realize how good iggy is at d and his numbers show it too.
Joe Johnson. sure. but he doesnt really blow you away with his scoring (only had 2 more ppg than iggy last season????? thats not goo enough) and he's three years older.

Rudy Gay, iggy clone. Id rather have iggy though because hes been here for a while.

Where was I when Iggy became this great defender???? Iggy is a good defender, nothing special. Joe Johnson is a great player, Kevin Martin is better than Iggy, and Rudy Gay has a much bigger upside than Iggy IMO.

These guys are blinded. Iggy is in the second tier of players.

Plus Kevin Martin only makes 10 million a year.

What you guys are forgetting is that Iggy cant dribble for a SG.

We are going to get pressed hard core this year and watch how many TO'S a game will happen when you put a SF at SG.

Stop hating Carter so much. He's just a dunker and an average shooter like Iggy. What more can you ask for?

Jk, but really Carter would'nt be that bad.

Let me respond for him....

**ahem** "We need shooters. Iggy cant shoot. We need pure scorers. Iggy cant score" (20ppg is not enough apparently).

Take the quote above and repeat 10 million times to avoid any further posts in this raggedy thread

First of all, I think it is hilarious that the majority of you who responded to this post all said that it was a stupid post yet you all keep replying to it. If you think it's that ridiculous you should just ignore it like most sane people do. Secondly, I said nothing about trading Iguodala. I was simply stating the possibility of him signing a giant offer sheet and the Sixers not wanting to match it. If this scenario came up Vince Carter would be an "option." Here's a quick comparison:

Last Season:

Andre Iguodala:

19.9 PPG
5.4 RPG
4.8 APG
.456 FG%
.329 3-Pt%

Vince Carter:

21.3 PPG
6.0 RPG
5.1 APG
.456 FG%
.359 3-Pt%

Wow....I mean Andre Igoudala is just so much better than Vince Carter that I don't know how someone could be so stupid to think Carter could be a good replacement for Iguodala should he leave.

Mrphilly

^^^^If you dont trade for him, there is no way to get him. He is under contract. So if iggy leaves, Vince is not an option. If Iggy walks, we are screwed big time.

VC is gettin past his prime and will continue geting worse and is a cancer to a team IMO

Iggy is getting better not in his prime, and a good player to have a round.

A lot of things dont go up on the stat sheet. Iggy plays DEFENSE

Vince is way past his prime. His contract is horrible what 70 mill over 4 years with 3 years left? STUPID THREAD, unreasonable and very stupid. If we replace Iggy with Vince we'll be worse. Vince would want to be the 1st option and that's not happening with Brand arround.

Iggy can't go anywhere. I can see the clippers making a huge offer to him, just to screw with the sixers cap, because they know the sixers will match any offer made to iggy. It's stupid on their part however because they'd be better off going after Smith, not iggy, both are about the same player but smith plays the PF which is now a big hole in the roster, plus Atlanta probably wouldn't be able to match. Going after iggy to try to screw with the sixers is just plain stupid, but that's why they're the clippers and Elton Brand is a Sixer

The thing about Vince Carter, is that he plays hard when he feels like it. I don't want that kind of character on the team.

^ True.

It seems like now people just watch TV and see a name, come in here and write "Here is an option: _________". It's getting old.
