He had 2 points, no boards, 5 fouls and 2 turnovers in 9 minutes.

Did Jawai play in this game at all? Or is he not there yet?
No, he didn't play. I am not sure exactly what his situation is, but I think it is something along of the lines of "not there yet".

Here is the boxscore for anyone interested. I intended to post the link in the first post.

Don't be silly, of course you can foul out in summer league. Just the limit is 10 fouls not 6.

I'd be interested to know how many of those are charges...he seems to be attacking the basket quite prolifically.

He always has attacked the basket, he just has never been effectively when doing so because of the charges and the turnovers.

benson update:

A lot of concern about Rod Benson out there and why he hasnít played a minute for Torontoís summer league team.

He had a bit of a sprained knee that kept him out of the first two games and he might be able to go tomorrow when they play again.

But donít get too excited. Spies in Vegas tell me the Raptors really arenít that high on him, even if they were looking to fill their 13th roster spot with a big, which they arenít.

Heís a good blogger, though.

Man Donte Green with 40 points the other night. I was really hoping we could get him in the draft and when i seen he was dropppiung in the draft i was thinking to myself BC has to trade up and get him. But didnt happen. He would of been a nice backup SF.

I'm not overly impressed with Joey's stats so far, but at least he is putting up decent numbers. Sure the amount of fouls are high, but remember that officials are whistle happy in summer league. I don't think we should say anything negative about Joey right now; the guy is performing pretty well (as he should be).

Another game, another loss. Joey once again led the team in scoring and he also had 8 fouls. Meanwhile Giles had a double-double, the PGs played alright and Hassan is 4th in the summer league in SPG.

Also Benson got into a game and still no sign of our 2nd round pick.

I think everyone is way too high on Jawaii, the guy is a complete wildcard, other then his size, we don't really know what we're going to get, there's a reason why he fell to the second round, I dont have the answer as to why but there must be a reason. He'll still probably end up having a better season the Andrea though lol.

Jawai played 24 minutes, shot 33%, had 6 rebounds, 8 points and two blocked shots in the Raptors win.

Joey played a better game, only 3 fouls!

Giles and Benson did not play.

Lucas had 16 points and shot 6-8 from the field.

Adams had 7 rebounds and 3 steals in 20 minutes.

I know people keep knocking Joey for that and I am not denying that he commits quite a few offensive fouls and turnovers but that is what you get with a player like that. Maggette does the exact same thing at about the same rate, as do many other aggressive offensive players.

I havn't seen a summer league game but if Joey is slashing then I'm happy. That is what this guy is and its what we need him to get better at...he needs to get better don't get me wrong, but getting reps in game situations is the only way he's going to get better. He could be a factor for us this year.

Joel is doing pretty well considering he's not the mainstay of the offense, 2-2 and 2-3 in his two games, he prob gets the open shots in.

didn't watch the game but he said he's a defensive player, was there any defense on his part during the game if someone watched it?

it's more of a try-out for the no names, summer work for bench guys, and a pre-season look at the draft picks.

A quick note on Summer League, which admittedly got scant coverage here as I was only too happy to focus on the Olympic qualifying tournament.

From what I gather, it's over, and you could make the case that Joey Graham was the most valuable player, given he averaged 18 points and 6.4 rebounds in five games.

This, of course, proves nothing. The Raptors were 1-4 in Vegas, suggesting that even in Summer League, Graham's most likely role is best player on a bad team. And let's look at those numbers: He did average 32 minutes a game, most on the team, so the numbers are going to come. But he also shot a not-so-impressive 46.7 per cent from the floor and averaged 3.8 turnovers a game and – oh yeah – six fouls.

Nothing personal against Graham – he's always been polite and friendly to everyone that I've ever noticed. And I respect the fact that he's a three-year veteran who's willing to put the time in and come to Vegas to try and impress his employers.

But the reality is he's heading into his fourth NBA season. He's a physical marvel. He's 26 years old. He should rule at Summer League.

A line that would impress me? Something efficient. Something that indicates he's staying ahead of the game mentally. A high shooting percentage, low turnover numbers and low foul totals.

That didn't happen, so I'm not that impressed.

Hard to get a read on Nathan Jawai based on two games, but I've only heard good things – not surprising at this stage. But the fact he got four offensive rebounds in 17 minutes the other night is encouraging. A guy his size that has a nose for the ball is intriguing.

A note on Bargnani. He's going to be spending the next two weeks in Vegas, I'm told. The first at Joe Abunassar's Impact Basketball facility where be working out under the eye of Gordon Herbert."
