Yeah, Ajinca was flat out bad in game 1 but looks like he dominated the paint in game 2. Augustin played great both games, should be an interesting situation at PG as the season goes on.

We'll have to see how DJ looks against some legit NBA players before we can believe he's ready to challenge for the #1 spot...although by all reports he's looked good. I'm more anxious to see the development of Ajinca though. B/c if he pans out then it makes the DJ over Lopez pick make much more sense..

07-14-2008, 03:56 PM
Ajinca played much better in his 2nd game. We won't really know how good he is/can be until preseason.

i agree with jakedelbreezy. and if dj ajust to the nba in we keep okafur we would have 8 players who can avg over 10 pts thats a plus

I still would have picked Lopez at this point (anybody know how he's been doing) just because big guys are SO hard to come by in the NBA, but augustine has been showing some promise in these summer league games

im not ready to jump on the mj bandwagon (if it even exists) but if Ajinca can actually contribute in the next two years or turn out to be a star that would be exactly what this franchise needs.

Im hoping, the bobcats are one big guy away from being able to seriously compete for the top spot in the East. Call me crazy but I think it just shows the importance of a big man. Just look at our lineup:

PG: Felton/Augustine
SG: J-Rich/Caroll
SF: Wallace/Morrison
PF: OKafor/May

It really is a solid roster besides the center spot. I think that Morrison will have his breakout year (not worthy of #3 pick but still a good contributor) and May will be able to play(this is his last chance). We just need a center which is why it blows my mind that anybody with any knowledge of this team would have passed on Lopez.

Let's hope Augustine is the next Chris Paul or maybe even a poor man's Chirs Paul and we can trade Felton or him for a good center because the PG position is gettign crowded fast in Charlotte.

Also, I forgot to add Dudley into the lineup somewhere in the two F spots, he's gonna be a solid contributor too.

Roster Updates: Ryan Hollins back, logged 7:16 today. Bobcats look to be trimming their roster, giving less players playing time. Right now, looks like Kyle Hines, James Mays, Brandon Wallace, and Orien Greene are the best bets to challenge for a roster spot.

Augustin looked like we might really have something special in this game, like Lincoln Logs said. I was disappointed he had 0 assists, but I'll take 30 points and 6 rebounds from a guy who was "too small." Now I don't want to get too far ahead of myself, but this is why I've always said height doesn't matter if you've got the heart and desire.

07-16-2008, 07:08 AM
Hieght doesn't matter cause if you got game then you got game. But we;ll see if he can put it up in a regular season game. I think he can though.

I have always liked the pick though

07-16-2008, 12:28 PM
you want to talk about impressive players? Davidson went for 7 points and 5 rebounds in just 6 minutes of playing time

that's impressive

D.J Will be a Great Player for US

Now If we stay healthy we are in the playoffs

Health will be the key

07-16-2008, 03:22 PM
I think if we are healthy we can make a run for the playoffs (hint. a run)

The Hawks played under .500 last year, plus there is the potential they lose Josh Smith and/or Josh Childress, valuable pieces to their teams. The Nets are no more talented than the Bobcats and there are rumors floating around that they would love to dump Vince Carter as well....I think the Bobcats are definitely in the mix for one of the final two spots in the east...but you also have to factor in the Bucks, Wizards (who should be on the list), the Bulls and the Heat...the Bobcats could finish anywhere from 6th to 13th in the East...

By far the best team effort for the Bobcats. Although, Gallinari and Balkman DNP for the Knicks.
