Olney's Speculation: Will the Red Sox will express interest in Khalil Greene with Julio Lugo on the DL for 4-6 weeks?

Considering Greene is worse then Lugo, no

Wasn't expecting Kielty to make an impact this year anyways.

Thanks for the home run in the World Series, Bobby!

Why was Kielty released? He was a dynamic bench player.

Because we don't need him. I am sure he wanted to be released so he could play on a major league team.

if you read more about it, it was built into his contract, and he asked for being released

He took the contract expecting, like most of us, Coco to be gone by now, but knowing it was not a definate.

Best of luck Bobby.. you added a lot of dynamic to last season.

This pretty much locks up Crisp for the rest of the year.

He was on the DL three times in the minors and put up a homely .228 in AAA. He wasn't going anywhere over Moss or Van Every.

I wish him well...big home run in the world series last year...but Moss has filled the reserve outfielder role beautifully, which made Kielty expendable. Also, avoid Khalil Greene...Cora and Lowrie can make due until Lugo returns...in fact, they'll probably be better.

Absolutely, all in all he was a good pick up by Theo last year and had a nice post season. Van Every, Bailey and Moss are all higher than him in AAA at the moment. And even Cris Carter (who I like a lot.)

As for Greene, he's not that great at all. His numbers are off this year, and he's an injury risk. Yuck.
