View Full Version : Nervewracking player on your own team

Which player on your own team makes you nervous when you see him play?

For me, it's Jason Isringhausen. He's just awful this year. No other way around it. I always get this dread in the pit of my stomach when he comes in to pitch.

I would say 90% of the time its a pitcher, and most of the time its a reliever. It USED to be Kyle Farnsworth for me, occasionally ill get worried, but not like I used to. I would say its Darrel Rasner now

like someone before me said, its going to be a pitcher 99% of the time. and a reliever a good majority of the time at that. so ill go with billy wagner, non mets fans friends tend to still go with the "hes one of the best in the game you're crazy" approach when i mention this, but im still nervous as hell, even when hes on his hot streaks. but before a few weeks ago i would have said heilman, he had what felt like maybe one or two decent outtings in all of his appearances until he went into this ridiculous shut'em down streak we are seeing now.

Yeah, if I were a Met fan it would be Wagner. This win streak is a very nice one for you guys, and whenever it ends, it feels like it has blown save written all over it

Guillermo Mota. Because I know Yost is going to put him in during a close game and I know Mota will make it a blowout game. Then Yost will do his press conference after the game and say something like "Mota pitched fine, he had some good stuff he just missed his spot on a couple of pitches. We know what he's doing wrong, we're working with him to fix it."

Ugh, I hate Mota and Yost.

gotta be the combo of tyler walker and brian wilson. 8th and 9th innings are killer for us giants fans the few times we have the lead going into them. if walker doesnt blow it the wilson will come damn close. its scary as hell.

Jays fan here - Id say Jesse Litsch. He either has a great start or mediocre which can sometimes lead to ugly, like yesterday vs. the Yankees.

Someone said BJ Ryan, i would disagree with that. He was coming off major surgery. A couple bad games are going to happen. But for the most part when hes on the mound I have no worries. Hes deadly.

It's going to sound crazy, since he hasn't blown a save yet (knock on wood), but Brad Lidge.

Boy that guy sure likes to make routine saves interesting.

eff thatttt. lol. IMO you have to take it back what two/three years, and go with BJ's predecessor Miguel 'Blowtista' (Bautista).

I don't think I can ever remember watching a situation where I knew the Jays were going to lose. He sucked, absolutely sucked. I think I did my Lotto 649 happy dance when they finally shipped him off. Good ridence to him. I know it was a while back, but that is the worst I can ever remember in recent memory.

For the Yankees there are a few:
Robbie Cano in clutch at bats
Bobby Abreu in right field whenever balls are hit to the wall
Kyle Farnsworth (usually at least, because he's been great lately)

The Yankees dont really have as many nervewracking guys as they had in the past, guys like Jeff Weaver, Jose Contreras, Javy Vazquez were just disasters lol

While Wagner is one of them for the Mets, I'll say Pedro Martinez as well. Even when Pedro looks dominant, he can just lose it out of NOWHERE and give up 6 runs in an inning.
