Just trying to think of another topic to discussion.

Who are the worst players or busts in the NBA that never got any heat or less criticism compared to others?

I'm talking about players who had great potential, drafted high, and/or with lots of expectations, who never performed up to standards, but for some reason, never got as much criticism as they deserved.

NBA fans today are quick to criticize. Bargnani is a good example.
Kwame, VC, Ricky Davis, Eddie Curry to name a few, all have their problems and reasons as why us as fans might not want them on our teams.
But they certainly aren't the worst players.

So why do some players get more heat, while others who also deserves critcism never gets it?

i think some players get overhyped and end up not getting enuff pt/getting injured/or just not being dat good

i think if greg oden comes n and puts up any thing less then a double double fans will think he was a bust compared to another kid who is producing.

i also think long time players who are talented and never go anywhere with there team (KG/VC etc) get criticized bcause they think since they have one great player all the pieces will fall into place

no i agree some players deserve criticisms like kwame.

but i'm asking why some players who also deserves some heat that never or hardly gets any.
i guess it's not easy to come up with some because most likely those players are not talked about a lot. but that's why i'm asking. ;)

i think love will be a solid 10/10 guy in this league or maybe even a 15/10 guy.

who do you think is a bigger bust? araujo or ron mercer?
they're both lottery picks, bad players, and are out of the league.

lots of people make fun of araujo (deservingly), but i've never heard anyone calling ron mercer or marcus fizer a bust...
i've heard millions of people calling araujo a bust, yet both mercer and fizer are higher picks.

BADizzleBoY
07-10-2008, 11:43 PM
araujo, mercer was a solid player with the spurs.

Dajun wagner had a bunch of messed up injuries Ill try to find the article on it

Iodine

Here it is
Dajuan Wagner: He missed missed thirty-five games during his rookie year due to what was thought to be a bladder infection. He missed another thirty-eight games during his sophomore season due to an inflamed pancreas and liver. Then, 11 games into his third season, Wagner started suffering stomach cramps and the doctors thought it was just another bladder infection. Turns out it was colitis, and that's what had been causing all his problems. He had the colon removed and missed another seventy-one games. That was pretty much the end of Dajuan's career; he tried to make a comeback, but his team (the Golden State Warriors) simply bought out his contract. (Note: I started writing this one when I thought it was simply a bladder infection. Then I found out about the colitis and just left it in. Not really a dumn injury, per se.)

For me it's all about expectations.

Take Darko vs. some other random Euro big taken with the 48th pick.

Nobody expects the 48 dude to amount to much, so nobody's going to pile on if he doesn't because it won't be surprising or disappointing.

But if you're taken with the #2, people damn well expect you to deliver some solid, if not great basketball and be a real contributor for your team. By the measure of expectations, anything short of that is failure.

So for me it's less about "being good" or "being bad" than it is about "exceeding expectations" or "falling short of expectations".

kwame deserves it, so does darko. they were both top 2 picks and they both are duds.

They didn't choose to be picked there. Them being "duds" falls on Jordan and Dumars.

cmellofan15

jordan drafted him but didnt tell them 2 underachieve joe dumars just made him look bad if u start out in a complete team and ur a rookie wat r u to do??? he didnt get much pt and couldnt develop in that situation

Remember Kwame's quote though to M.J.:

"If you pick me, you won't regret it"

It's obvious why VC gets it. Canada hates him, half of NY hates him, half of LA hates him.

Out of curiosity, why does half of LA hate him?
