The Golden State Warriors have signed restricted free agent forward Ronny Turiaf to an offer sheet, Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Chris Mullin announced today. Per team policy, terms of the offer sheet were not announced. Under the rules of the NBA’s collective bargaining agreement, the Los Angeles Lakers have seven days (through Thursday, July 17) to match the Warriors’ offer.

Exactly, he won't put up big stats or anything, but if a team wants to win a championship, it needs good roleplayers as well as star power.

I would like to see the Lakers match it. 4 mil a year isn't exactly eating the salary cap up or anything, and the continuity in the locker room is a good thing for any team.

Count the Luxury Tax and Buss is paying him EIGHT M per year. That is completely insane and I wouldn't even consider matching it. They overpaid worse for him than the Lakers did Vlad and Luke put together.

I don't agree. We're over the luxury tax more because of Kobe's and Pau's contracts than the $4M we'd be giving to Ronny, and because of Luke and Vlads horrendous contracts.

Ronny was a solid player off the bench for us all season, and we're not going to pick up a good replacement for cheaper than what he's being offered anyway.

I know he played badly during the finals, but so did Kobe, Pau and Odom. We were just matched up against a great team that out-played us. That doesn't mean we should just start replacing everyone who contributed all season long.

He played horrible all playoffs, not just the finals
