The official website for the Oklahoma City team has now had the SuperSonics name and colors removed, the Associated Press is reporting.

The site now redirects to http://www.nba.com/oklahomacity/

Bennett will be leaving the SuperSonics' name, logo and colors in Seattle. The NBA hasn't yet announced a new name for the Oklahoma City franchise.

That's a good thing.

If the Sonics name and colours are not taken by OK, it means there is still a future for the name to resurface in Seattle again someday.

Still not happy that the sonics are no more, this is one of the worst relocations of a sport franchise in history...

Yep. Definitely worse than when the Grizzlies left Vancouver, and I'm still getting over that one. This was blatant lying and it makes me :mad::mad:

I'm going to miss the Supersonics. When I think of them I think of Gary Payton, Sam Perkins, Shawn Kemp, Nate McMillian, Detlef Shrimp, and company.

If OKC could just get some deadly low post scoring they would be pretty lethal with westbrook, durant, green,

I could really care less about seattle, but the sonics were definitely an icon in an otherwise fairly boring, extremely beautiful city. It sounded like your attendance was fairly good for a team that had no future last year, or this year. I'm sure they could have sold out a few games if and when the team became a contender, this is almost as bad as when the Browns moved up after nearly a century of being the only team icon in an otherwise worthless city.

My favorite Seattle memory will be when Kemp dunked on the dude and POINTED AT HIM!!!! Could you imagine if someone did that in today's game?

Although this is the darkest hour in Seattle sports history there will be a future. 5 years from now the expansion Sonics will be coming to the NAB and 5 years from then they will be blended seamlessly with the original Sonics in the minds of fans. All that will be left is memories and a bitter hatred of Clay Bennet by everyone who isn't from Oklahoma. A better question is what will the name of the OKC team be?
