In another deal today, former Clipper Corey Maggette reached agreement to join the Golden State Warriors in a five-year deal worth about $50 million, according to NBA sources who requested anonymity because they are not authorized to speak about player movements. Maggette also opted out of the last year of his Clippers contract last week.

Good for them, they were losing too much.

The Clippers are in a terrible position now. I wonder is Baron backs out and stays with the Warriors. Davis-Ellis-Maggette-Harrington-Biedrins with A.Randolph, B.Wright and S.Jackson off the bench would be deadly.

beat me to it...just saw it on ESPN NEWS from Marc Stein he said where not done, lookin' for a point guard! I like it! I think the W's should trade Captain Jack & Al for a PG.

off topic, but how do i put a pic under my post?

Good news for Golden State, they missed out on Brand who they offered more money too and instead get Maggette. It is a fine pick-up, not really going to turn around the franchise but it is a solid move. At least he isn't going to San Antonio or Boston for the MLE. :sigh:

Ellis will be moving to PG unless Baron Davis backs out of signing with the Clippers to stay in Golden State.

Dude I really don't think Monta is ready to play PG, last year he was a mess and Jac took over the PG when Baron was on the bench. We need to sign a Pg or trade or else CJ Watson will be starting at PG. I doubt Nellie will start Monta at PG

I don't think Jackson goes to the bench.

The Warriors have some movable pieces in order to get a PG.
Their off-season isn't over. Look for them to make another signing or trade.

No we will resign Monta...that is our #1 priority along with Biedrins.

I thought Maggette said he wanted to go somewhere where he was going to win? Looks like he was all about the money.

God, the Warriors got so much worse this offseason.

I wouldn't say they got soo much worse, merely by signing Maggette replaced one scorer with another, and could be better if Monta can smoothly make the transition to PG(doubtful). So they've merely stayed almost the same, if they resign Monta and Biedrins. They still have a lot to do this offseason. Of course, Baron was the man that made the Ws offense tick, so it'll be interesting to see if he comes back to GS to form a deadly lineup. However, Captain Jack would not be happy I don't think if he was relegated to the bench. I'd see Maggette being more of the 6th man, but he did want to be the number 1 or 2 scoring threat.

Oh, and I hope its not 10 million per. He's not worth that. I love the move if its 7 or 8 million though.

Ellis will be moving to PG unless Baron Davis backs out of signing with the Clippers to stay in Golden State.

An Al Harrington for Kirk Hinrich swap is looking more and more likely...

No, Celtics would have been. The Celtics need 96 minutes per game between the SG and SF positions. With Pierce and Allen aging, Doc would have happily allocated a solid 30 minutes of that to Maggette. That rotation, along with KG, Rondo, Perk, Powe, and whoever ultimately gets PT at the PG position, would cruise in the East, even with emerging teams such as Philly, Toronto, Miami, Chicago, Orlando, etc, and contenders such as Cleveland and Detroit. No one would have had enough to stop the Celtics. Still, they'll sign Posey and a couple more roll players and that will be that.
