Pacers' rookie Brandon Rush has rather lofty goals as he wants to be the next Reggie Miller, according to the Indianapolis Star.

Rush will officially become a member of the Pacers on July 9 when the NBA's moratorium on trades ends. Indiana dealt the rights to Jerryd Bayless and Ike Diogu to Portland for Jarrett Jack, Josh McRoberts, and the rights to Rush on draft night.

"I want to try to be the next Reggie Miller," Rush told The Kansas City Star soon after hearing the news that he was headed to Indiana.

He explained to The Indianapolis Star on Wednesday that he was referring to Miller's skill and success with the team.

"Just coming in and helping the team win, that's what I was thinking about," said Rush. "And with him being a sharpshooter -- I want to be that kind of player."

He has a chance to be good but he will not start over Dunleavy as long as he is there. Will never become Reggie, just can't shoot like him.

No, that would Vlade Divac or Manu.

Nothing wrong with aspiring to be the next Reggie. I mean being one of the 50 greatest of all time isn't a bad goal.

At least Pacer fans know he is commited to the team and wants to win everytime. Imagine him and his brother on the floor at the same time, it would be a splash party.

Him and Kareem are definitely gonna fill it up from the perimeter. Rush is a beast in all facets of the game. He won't be the next Reggie, but he could unseat Dunleavy's old one year wonder ***.
