He will get a 3 week tryout at short and then Dodgers make a decision on whether to give up real talent for a bona fide shortstop.

I can't wait, there are sure to be some hilarious moments with Nomar trying to field a ball hit up the middle.

Is this speculation on your part or actual news?

Three weeks is a damn long time to test the water...

2 weeks? My money is on two games. If we're lucky.

If he couldn't handle the physical nature of 3rd without landing on the DL what's the likelihood of him being able to hold down the fort at SS without losing a limb?

Wouldn't that be ironic though if he did hold down fort and returned to form.

I bet that idiot Ned Colletti is looking for a replacement shortstop right now because even he knows Nomar will not be able to pull this off.

Nomar will hit, no doubt, but defense will be emarrassing.

i think errors are inevitable if this experiment actually takes place, the risk is him hurting himself trying to do too much. like bend over... or move quickly to his left...or throw across his body...i don't really think this one will work

I think he'll be alright if he stays healthy. He has a career .968 fielding percentage at SS. His best position in his career was in 2006 when he played 1B with a .996 FP%. Could've won the Gold Glove.

Expect errors but also expect him to not be so bad. He should be able to hit and I would rather have him play mediocre SS with a good bat, than have Berroa or Maza play and hit the way they are now. Him at short will help us offensively, and hopefully he won't hurt us defensively.

If he stays healthy and takes over short without a problem, then we won't have to deal our youngsters for a replacement.

Lets hope he stays healthy.

He'll make the plays that he is supposed to make, but don't expect incredible range out of him. I can tell you that much.
