View Full Version : Would you take Tim T back?

It is very much apparent that the Clippers are shopping Mobley and that there isn't much room for him on that team with Eric Gordon being a younger version with more upside.

What if we swapped Jared Jeffries and Malik Rose for Cuttino Mobley and Tim Thomas? It sounds like a great deal for the Clips who can fortify their frontline bench with a versatile defensive specialist in Jeffries and Malik with his demeaner and Playoff experience could be huge for Al Thornton and Elton Brand.

From a financial point of view the clips get an expiring in Malik who eases their cap burdon now that they are spending a bunch on Davis & Brand.

For the Knicks we get two guys who can shoot from 3 and play in the D'Antoni System (Thomas has done it before) and also 2 guys that expire in by 2010.

Agreed......this is a great deal, for both teams. We don't have much use for Jefferies or Malik with Gali in the in up now. Adding Mobley is a good look at guard being that he can roll of the bench at either the 1 or 2. Tim would be coming off the bench and can easily grab 20-25 mins a game relieving the 3, 4 and 5 spot respectively.

I say pull the deal, and pass the cookie along if its the white chocolate and macadamia nut one.

I doubt they will give up Thomas and Mobley for Jeffries and Rose. That's too good a deal for us, so it sounds like fantasy to me. Thomas never really showed any heart on any team he played for. That's why he keeps getting traded. But if we could do this deal it would still be a significant upgrade. I'm not holding my breath though.

I would take any deal that doesn't hurt our cap for 2010 with the players leaving

I would be willing to take back Tim Thomas but I wouldn't make that particular trade because Malik Rose expires before anyone of those players. I would try sending out Jared Jeffries and Jerome James though instead. Either way, I don't see either team making this type of trade.

I must say though, what earned Tim Thomas' contract was his performance a few years ago when he played with the Suns under Mike D'Antoni's system. He's a solid ball player, he's just not very consistent and not much of a defender either.

:puke: I want no part of Mobley and Thomas. Tim Thomas is an A-hole and Mobley is washed up. Im not that desperate to get rid of Jeffries. I accept the fact that the guy sucks. Its okay bc he can be put at the bottom of the SF depth chart.

Marbury + TT = bad news.

T. Thomas is "Me first" guy and his teamates usually don't like him. Not the presence you want on a young team with a new coach.

Not now although Mike D might disagree because he is his style of player and played for him. Maybe not cause they traded him in Phoenix. Two years ago yeah. Today, nah.
