Who is the best starter in the White Sox rotation?

This year it's been Danks. No doubt about that.

So far, Danks. No argument really.

I think there is an argument, considering Floyd has nearly tossed 2 no-no's and has more wins, and Vazquez is considered the ace of the staff and is one of the AL strikeout leaders. Buehrle has also been coming on strong lately, and Contreras has been solid all season long.

Shall I even bother saying who I think, or are we all in an agreement that it's Danks?

What is the poll based on? Best overall, best this season, potential, stuff???? If you go with this season, then yes, Danks no question. The other ones you can go any way.

Danks is a no-brainer here. He's been a stud all year and he pitched great again tonight. He should be at or close to 10 wins this year if we didn't blow some of them, or even give him a few more runs.

Danks. 17 starts, 5 wins, 4 losses. 2.50 ERA.

Why so few wins?

The team is 9-8 when he starts. In those 8 losses, the sox offense averages 1.62 runs per game. Including 3 shutouts.

Only once, Apr. 9 vs. Min, have we scored more than 3 runs and lost the game with Danks starting. This game was also Danks' only really bad start, in which he gave up 25% of the total earned runs he's allowed this year (7 of 28). Cut this fluke game out, and his total ERA is 2.14 for the year.

In his 8 No-Decisions, his ERA is 2.18.

In 9 games won with Danks starting, the offense averages 5.78 runs per game.

He's simply a victim of our streaky offense.

He should have around 8-10 wins.

looking at the bigger picture im going to go with who i think always deserves it and thats mark buehrle.

without question the most durable and consistant starter in the AL Central, he isnt as filthy as vazquez, and he isnt as hot as danks but i still take the track record over either any day

I think this season, so far, there is no argument who has been the best and most consistent, John Danks.

But i voted Mark Buehrle because he has basically been an ace quality pitcher for his entire career, and his command is back.

For a good month, even longer possibly, MB is dominant again.

John Danks is great and another couple months of this and he is better than buehrle, but not yet IMO.

Always and forever, one day people are going to realize how good Mark actually was.

If Peavy's season continues on the pace its started maybe people will wake up to how underrated and great Buehrle actually is.

In our park and division, his numbers over the last decade are flat out amazing, and when its all said and done he could actually be better than the great amazing super awesome Jake Peavy. :speechless:

In the offseason you all mocked me for continuing to say Buehrle was better than Peavy , its waaaaaaay to early to call anyone a winner, but my horse is in the lead.
