My bad on the title it should be Warriors

What a crazy night in free agency. First, Baron Davis surprisingly opted out of the final year of his contract that would have payed him $17.8 million this season from the Golden State Warriors.

Then, according to my sources, the Warriors quickly burned the phones and offered former Warrior Gilbert Arenas a maximum-level contract, one that would pay him more than $100 million over five years. My source told me that Gilbert received a flurry of phone calls from the Warriors in the first 30 minutes of free agency.

After Gilbert drove to the Verizon Center for a late night workout and a meeting with Ernie Grunfeld, the Wizards came strong with an offer of a maximum contract that covers six years for over $124 million (Not sure whether they knew about the Golden State offer or not. I hear they didn't. Ernie came strong but also laid it out for Gilbert that if he asked for the maximum, the team would be in a tough spot.)

According to a source close to Arenas, the three-time all star is mulling the offers but is leaning towards staying with the Wizards and is willing to take less than the maximum if it will help Grunfeld make other moves he needs to make this summer.
Looks like the Wizards were going to do the same thing... where will he go? Where he was drafted for a little less or back to washington for more?

I agree. I would much rather have Davis run my team than Arenas.

Arenas is nowhere near worth $100 mil...warriors are just dumb.

You can't pay someone over $100 mill if the player has been injured all season lol he deserves a 1 yr contarct to prove he's healthy, too risky because he already messed up his knee last year in the playoffs....

He is way overpaid in this offer. The warriors are now desperate since davis bolted out.

Warriors are stupid if this is true. Gilbert is not worth the Max and this move is seriously gonna hurt the flexibility of this franchise in the future.

No fears uchiha....The Portland Bowser's, Los Angeles Lakitu's, Sacramento King Koopa's, and the Toronto Yoshi's can still defeat the Golden State Warrio's!

I don't understand why Arenas is worth $127 mil and Baron Davis is only worth $65 mil? Yes Davis has some years on him, but Arenas is injury prone and hasn't proved be worthy of over $100 million. That is crazy talk, only guys deserving of that money are guys like Kobe, Garnett, Duncan and LeBron.
