Hypothetically speaking, if the NBA were to have a draft in which every current player was available and you were the Bulls GM, who would you pick with the #1 overall pick?

Keep in mind that no team has any players on there roster. Every team would be starting from scratch. So who would you like to build your team around?

Dwight Howard, then Lebron. There's not really a close 3rd but Paul would be the third after a gap. Great center at Howard's age and he's the only one in the entire league right now. Hard to pass that up. Even as special as Lebron is.

All-time: obviously Jordan

I'd have to give the edge to D12 right now, with LeBron a VERY CLOSE second.

I take Dwight, with LeBron next also.

kozelkid
06-30-2008, 11:23 PM
why?
sure dwight is a center, but in all honestly he doesnt even have any true post game, he just dunks for the most time (might be blatant and I might be exaggerating a bit, but it is true). I mean I dont doubt he can develop it, but at this point I havent seen much of a shot from him and he basically cant make a shot anywhere beyond 5feet.
when I see lebron, I see a magic2.0, I think lebron, along with bird, magic and MJ are the few exceptional players that can break that so called rule of thumb that you should go center.
As for the person who said kg, wow. first of all, I am not even mentioning that he is already 32 and has maybe a good 2-3 seasons left. Even if, anyone would take duncan ahead of him, I mean when has kg ever lead his team without 2 proven allstars, duncan has already done it 4 times and 1 of the 4 times he was the only allstar on that team. kg couldnt even get to the finals when he had cassel and sprewell. kg is good, but players like lebron, duncan, possibly kobe and probably soon dwight are in a whole different league.

Wow no Tim Duncan love. The guy has only won 4 of the last 10 championships.

It would have to be Tim Duncan, than Lebron James.

You may think I am joking but I would take the best scoring PG that sees the court really well and averages a fair amount of assists
2008 Chris Paul
2009 Derrick Rose

all time MJ

I thought we were taking players at their current ages, if we can take any player currently in nba and reset their ages to be as rookies, then I'd take duncan without a second's though...

No, you have to pick current players at thier current ages and build your team based around that player. If you're in a win now mode then I could understand T. D. but if you're building for the future who would you pick?
