No thanks, Vince Carter is getting up there in age. The Rockets would never include one of the best defensive specialist in the league in Shane Battier, in any such trade.

Having watched them both in Toronto I absolutely VETO this idea.

VC is terrible winner. He just came to the NBA to collect a pay cheque. Along the way he made a name for himself as an amazing dunker.

Maybe that would motivate TMAC and VC to actually try in games. But if it didn't then we would be extra screwed. lol

Clevland almost got away with Wally for VC.
If we really wanted VC maybe we could offer like Bobby Jackson, Luther Head and 2nd rounder

YES it would be a dream come true and one the organization should look into, Bobby J and a newly resigned Landry with Hayes/Head would be an adequate package. If your involving Battier your going tooo far.

VC would solve alot of our problems.

V.C is too ancient plus it will never work cause it never did in toronto with T-Mac and V.C and we will be giving up way too much if it did ever happen

You don't need him, you need to get Ron Artest. You need to have that defense at SF in case you play the Lakers or Spurs.

I really like VC and to see him with TMAC would be real cool, but the trade doesn't even make sense to me...

30 is not that old especially if we have a win now plan, the only reason it didnt work in toronto cause they both were trying to make names for themselves, and tmac sat on the bench behind carter and cristie, seriously doug cristie

What the hell? They were amazing as a duo in Toronto and that was a 19 year old Tracy

Why don't we just trade the whole team for Vince Carter and a future second round pick?

Okay now that I look back that was way too much for VC.... But we could give them Jackson, Head, Hayes+2nd Rounder for VC and he is not washed up he averaged 21, 5, and 6 if thats washed up then Our team is 100% garbage but would you guys do it??

Yao/ Dorsey/ Mutombo
Scola/ Landry
Mcgrady/ Battier/ Greene
Carter/ Barry
Alston/ Francis/ Brooks

That would be our "Big Three" there

They were damn good together in Toronto, but not amazing unfortunately.

Tracy didn't come alive until his last year in T.O. & obviously they didn't get past the first round that year.

You talk as if people expected Tracy to tear it up from day 1, he showed signs of greatness as he matured, as far as 17 and 18 year olds go, Tracy was very impressive. By 19 he had emerged as full blown stopper with a crazy hotstreak, and Vince was in his 2nd year and coming into his own as well. To me their play was amazing because of where they were in the respective stages of their careers. If they wouldve stayed together history mightve been alittle different. Vince really really choked that year but it was his first taste of the playoffs.

If the Nets can find a way to throw in Mike James, I'm in.

To make the money match you'd need to throw in another 2 million, so basically Francis. And you do realize that Vince has 3 seasons for 48.8 million guaranteed, right? That said if we were going to spend 15 million a season for the next 3 seasons, I think we could get a better player than Carter.
