You really cant say Chris Paul just because he hasn't accomplished anything. He still really needs to work on his shooting and defense.

So as of now, Steve Nash just because he is a 2 time MVP and has created players like Amare, Diaw, Bell, Barbosa, Better.

Another player i like is Jose Calderon who had the best Assist/Turnover ratio and had a well over 50% shooting. He will get the chance of being a starting 35plus minute pg and players like Bosh and JO to work with.

NOT DW8 OR CP3 JUST YET

umm..

chris paul has more PPG, assists per game, steals per game, rebounds pergame, more than 1 less TO per game, and can actually score when needed. not just when wide open.

oh, and he is a better defender.

i think deron williams because he has the ability to finish with either hand has a great size for a point guard 6'3 and can guard the perimeter good and guard sg's and has a good playmaking abilities and can pull up and shoot can catch and shoot from almost anywhere, is athletic and can also post up i think he is the complete package at PG and some and he can only get better, i would have chose cp3 but because his size he cant really post up and cant guard bigger guards than 6'3, he is not a really good defender but does get steals but not a one on one defender also he is not really a pull up and shoot pg from the perimiter and cant really post up.

steve nash does not play d, he is 35 and been in the league a very long time and was overrated for 2 mvp's in a row, and he didn't make amare better he did that on his own you put cp3 or deron with them guys and they would do way better than nash and especially williams because he is a solid defender, have you ever watched nash play? he's not near as athletic as cp3 and dw8 even cp3 has better d than nash and he needs to work on that more, so you must be tripping or really like nash, and seriously do you think he deserved those mvp's i think amare deserves enough credit as nash all nash does is run the floor and kick the ball out to his shooters and when he has an open shot he knocks it down and is good at finishing around the rim, but cp3 and dw8 have all those quality's and some, i just cant believe you chose steve nash over dw8 let alone cp3

Although I am a Jazz fan and know I am naturally a little biased on this, I still have to say Deron Williams. I agree they are close and CP3 has gotten more publicity and was 2nd last year in the MVP voting, but anyone who has watched them play head to head cannot argue that D-Will has dominated CP3 in nearly every game they have played.

IMO, CP3 is an incredible talent, but he lacks size and that hurts him when they match up. D-Will is too big and strong for CP3 to handle and he nearly always gets in early foul trouble.

D-Will's overall game, size and strength get him my vote as the Best PG in the game.

In my opinion..he is the most complete Point Guard in the NBA today...he can score, defend, AND distribute...and not only can he score, defender, and distribute...he can score, defend, and distribute GOOD. All the other point guards, while good, have holes in their games. Jason Kidd can't score, Steve Nash can't defend, Tony Parker isn't as good of a distributer...ect. ect. ect.

For all of you D-Will over Chris Paul people.

I managed to check both of their head-to-head stats.

Deron Williams = 38 Points / 38 ASSISTS / 0 Steals / 14 TOs / 36.62 MPG
Chris Paul = 43 Points / 31 ASSISTS / 10 Steals / 8 TOs / 36.80 MPG

Chris Paul comes out on top. Scored more, less turnovers, produces more (steals), although he averaged about 18 seconds more than D-Will in MPG. So they had the same amount of time to produce.

Chris Paul. He put up monster stats last year and basically exploded on his opponents in the playoffs. He led the Hornets past the Mavs in the 1st round of the playoffs. It is hard to not put him #1 right now with the level he is playing at. Easily the best PG in the NBA right now, IMO.

You might want to say you are OVERLY biased.

Because what you just stated was some major bull sh-t.

Watch the games or at least check the stats before you call a guy out. they faced 4 times this years and the numbers looked like this:
CP3
Ave. Min per Game = 35
Field goal = 15-49 = 31%
3 point = 1-8 = 13%
assists = 37
T.O. = 13
Steals = 11
Total Pts. = 49 = 12 per game

D-will
Ave. Min per Game = 36
Field goal = 27-47 = 58%
3 point = 5-9 = 56%
assists = 44
T.O. = 17
Steals = 1
Total Pts. = 67= 17 per game

I don't think those numbers reflect that CP3 is anymore of a MVP then Dwill. As seen CP3 is quicker (hence more steals and more TO by Dwil) but I think the shooting % says it all in their head to head numbers. D-will is bigger with a more consitant shot. Plus the assist difference surprised me. These guys are both awesome but head to head I think Dwill will always win due to size and touch. Plus CP3 averaged 1 more personal fouls per ea. of the 4 games.

Where you get you numbers fantasyland? CP3 in their 4 games this year scored 15,6,24,4. Dwill was 12,29,22,4. That right there shows me your numbers are so munipulated and wrong to even go on. GO back to school you drop out. And why did you just so nicely forget the field goal %. That is the big difference is.

CP3, right now, easily!

D-Will, Nash, Billups, Parker & Calderon* round out the top 5
*I can see how many can & will say Jose Calderon doesn't deserve to be there yet, fortunately this year he'll have a shot to prove himself as he becomes a full time starter (the best assist-turnover ratio last season though does warrant some mention as a top PG).

Chris Paul hasn't accomplished anything yet true, but does that mean suddenly his playing ability decreases because he has no awards?? Paul is going to be scary for years to come, that guy is a force and the best PG in the game right now!

Really...did you happen to look at the stats for game 2? Apparently not so here is a link:

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/boxscore;_ylt=AsqP55yz6oe0xjtEYJ5FL02LvLYF?gid=200 8020426

D-Will outscored him 29-6, handed out more assists 11-6, had less turnovers, shot 11-13 from the field compared to Paul's 3-11, D-will 3-4 on 3 pt shots, compared to Paul's 0-2, should I go on?

How did you miss this game? This was the defining game where D-Will showed why he is the better point guard because CP3 cannot guard him. D-will posted Paul up and Paul had to foul him to stop him which put his butt on the bench with foul trouble....D-will did whatever he wanted in this game and the stats prove it. Really, did you just miss this game?

And D-Will also won the most important stat and that is the WIN. Chris Paul and the hornets lost 3 out of 4 games to the Jazz largely because Chris Paul isn't the same player when he plays against D-Will.

Really, did you just miss this game?

.

You are correct!!!! That's exactly why i put Dee Dub in front of Paul..

D-Will's overall game, size and strength get him my vote as the Best PG in the game.

i Absolutly agree with what you said. i was going to say the exact same thing but you beat me. everytime. D-will and CP3 play against eachother. D-will dominates over him. pushes him around like paper. d-will top cp3 2nd

As a non-Jazz fan, I agree that DW is better than CP3 because he has all the same abilities but has a small size advantage. CP3 is one hell of a gamer though, I don't know if DW will be able to match him in taking over the game when his team needs in the years to come.

I dont think Allen should be up there. But how isnt it either between Jayy Kidd or Nash. The king of triple doubless. And nash with 2 MVPs. Chris paul isnt near? And for Dj Williams never.

A couple questions
1. Who is DJ williams?
2. Did you watch any hornets games or Jazz games?
3. So if its by Career you could say that Payton is the 3rd best PG in the league right now right?

Jason Kidd is definitely one of my favorite point guards of all time, but he's definitely on his last legs. His age has finally gotten to him and he doesn't have the same speed and quickness as before. This makes him not as good of a defender as he used to be. Also, he's never been the best shooter (he's never been a good shooter for that matter). So now he's a great passer, ball handler, and team mate. But, he's an ordinary defender without a jump shot.

As for Steve Nash... again, incredible passer and teammate. Poor defender. He's not a complete package.
