I played a lot a few years ago with my dad and his friend. I loved it. Had a whole bunch of years. That and a card game called Big League Manager educated me so much on the game in the 1960's and 1970s. The **** I pull out because of it amazes my friends.

Strat has done the same for me. The '75 set and '88 set have taught me a lot. Strat is just an amazing game because of all the different things you can do with the cards and make tournaments and stuff

I used to play in the early 70's through mid 80's sporadically. I played the NFL one more (cause my friends kept buying all the years).

I played 24 seasons of roto ball (moved into advanced stats quickly) between 90-97. Gave that up because I finally made my money back, and my kids offered different challenges (16 & 11 - both best pitchers in town their age, little guy can hit a ton too)

Great stuff. Reading rotoball type stats probably makes a lot more sense to a guy my age with that as a background, then Joe Morgan chirping "he's the most clutch performer" or something equally inane....

Chicagofan71 or anyone else interested. I noticed as a location you put down "Moved To Jersey." I have myself and three other guys who will be starting up two sit down player cards Strat leagues in the next few weeks in the Central Jersey area. We are all in our late 30's (I was born in 1972) and have played Strat when we were in our late teens. Basically we draft players from a chosen season and then play a full 162 game schedule with those teams. We have started a 1978 league already and we would like to simultaneously start an 80's, 90's, and 00's league as well. Like yourself, we own a number of Strat leagues (78, 86,88,93,94,97,05,07.) We are looking for a few more deicated Strat players who would like to set up a once a week Strat night where we all sit around and roll the dice.

If you are interested, please e-mail me (Steve) at sja2993@aol.com.

Love the strat. To those who havent played and call themselves a 'stat geek', then you're clearly a hypocrite.

That really opened up some long forgotten memories, I had to google it, I guess most play on line now. I'm just thinking of the 3 dice and a thousand rubber bands.
