This guy might be a Top 5 GM in the NBA and he never gets any publicity or love. He was a miracle worker last year in the Draft last Night. He turned Nicholas Batum into Donte Greene, Joey Dorsey and 2009 Memphis 2nd Round Pick. Tell me that is not awsome. This isnt the 1st time he has done great work. He drafted 2 controversial picks last year (Brooks, Landry). And they turned into future NBA Starters. Then we got a Top 15 PF in Scola by trading an unhappy Greek for him. Give this guy some love ppl

Honestly I have never heard of the guy, but those are some great moves.
Who else has he drafted?

And I think this should stay in the NBA forum, he wants people to know about this GM

Why shouldn't this be in the NBA forum? From what I understand every team has a GM and from the posts above not very many people know about him.

Bad call josh.

I like Morey, but I'm not going to thank him for all he's done, when he's only been a GM for a year....

I think it's because his so young, unlike CD old fart was afraid to make moves, and when he did they where really horrible, well 80% of them.

I think it's because Morey has brought a fresh way of thinking...CD's moves used to drive me crazy as they were so weak and UN-ballsy.... Morey's are bold and well-thought out and he seems to be a much better wheeler dealer going after more value.... Last year, he had only a low 1st round pick and Spanoulis...and he turned that into Scola, Landry and Brooks.
This year, he turned the 25th pick into 1. 28th pick 2. 33rd pick and a future 2nd rounder... Dorsey is supposed to be one of the best post defenders in college... The jury's still out on Greene.....but, if he does this was be another masterful draft. Basically, Morey turned the 25th pick into 3 picks.... and from what I've seen out of Morey so far, they might turn out to be value picks again.

lol, you guys... he's been GM for a year and we haven't won a playoff series. He's accomplished nothing.

He doesn't deserve appreciation yet. Results first, respect later.

one year isnt enough for him to make a huge impact. he already had 2 superstars and they just havent performed, not his fault. he got a starter, and 2 quality backups in one year

22 straight games! Tell me this, were you not excited when we kept on winning because that team that played those 22 games were playing the best ball I have seen in a long time. I thank Morey just for helping us get a squad that can play true team bball.

Exactly. If one year isn't enough to make a huge impact, then how can we give Morey his dues? The jury is still out.

well this juror already know the verdict. Daryl Morey is a genious.
What would the Rockets have been without Scola and Landry last season?? terrible.

This year he turns one late first round pick into a 6'10" sharpshooting, fast, athletic SF and a ready-to-play 6'9" bear sized man that can back up Yao and be insurance for the Carl Landry situation as well.

I like the effort he gave to try to give Houston a third star and not giving up on him(Steve Francis)
