View Full Version : Alberto Callaspo was arrested on DUI charges

Alberto Callaspo was arrested early Friday morning on DUI charges.

A second ugly incident involving Callaspo, who last May was arrested for assaulting his wife. That incident most certainly played a role in Arizona's decision to trade him to Kansas City. Since he's yet to establish himself as more than a mediocre utilityman, he can't afford to keep embarrassing his teams with his off-the-field behavior.

Royals placed infielder Alberto Callaspo on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 26, for evaluation and treatment of an unspecified medical condition.

Callaspo was arrested Friday for driving under the influence. The time off will give him a chance to clear up some legal issues. He was batting .290 in 42 games off the bench. Esteban German and Tony Pena Jr. will be in line for more at-bats off the bench.

Wow... he could actually be a decent player if he wasn't an idiot.

This is the Pacman Jones of Baseball. This guy is a monster on the field but a moron off it. I liked him in AZ too. I thought we got a steal from the Dbacks, apparently we got a crash test dummy

Yeah, he's ****ed. I don't even think he's that great of a player, let alone one worth holding onto that has off the field issues. Buckner sucks tho, so I don't blame Moore for trading for the drunk.

Who you trade for him again?
