The royals have been hot ever since they called up aviles. He has been a huge help to the lineup. The bats are finally goin good and the pitching is comming around as well Hochever has pitched very well his last two outings. And guillen iss finally backing up his words with his production at the plate.

Totally agree. Aviles has been AWESOME, and Guillen is hitting incredibely well. I guess he doesn't need the juice

dont forget about david dejesus. he's been very hot, lately. hope the injury against the cards wasnt serious.

one month later, and still doing well. aviles is hitting over .300, and his fielding is improving greatly. dejesus is going strong as are teahen and butler. we've been hovering around the .500 mark, since the break though.

This Aviles kid is the real deal, I also think if Teahan and Guillen keep it going this could be a very good 2nd half for the Royals

i wouldn't say the royals have been "hot" but they've played very well.
a few breaks here and there would be nice, but they've played much better since that terrible losing streak in May. i still hold out hope that the royals can hit .500 this year, maybe i'm just an eternal optimist.

It is nice seeing billy butler showing some power rigt now he is batting very well right now

Fo sho, he has 5 homers this month... I hope this is a legit breakthrough and not another Teahen half season fluke.

I would love to see Teehan hit 30 Hr.

mike aviles was named co-american league player of the week, this week. sat/sun going 7 for 10 against the white sox and raising his b.a. to .340 in the process! good job, aviles!!!

Royals seem to be a different squad since the call up of Mike Aviles. I still say they sneak into third place.

I doubt it. But next year after getting maybe Ben Sheets or someone like that, maybe they can win 85 games or so.

aviles just made a circus catch in shallow left field! he has sure solidified the infield!

08-06-2008, 04:16 PM
He's a shortstop?

08-06-2008, 08:44 PM
yes. on occasion, the royals will move him to second base and have german at short...or pena jr., since grudzeilanek got hurt.

I guess having Angels in the infield didn't work out to well.
