I would like to say in 2010 Tracy Mcgrady's contract will expire as will Rafer Alstons. If we choose not to keep these 2 players the FA pool for the summer of 2010 is gonna be a treat. LBJ, D.Wade, and Bosh all signed contracts making them unrestricted in the same year. If everything stays the same we will be 22 mil under the cap allowing us to get 1 of those megastars and a 2nd tier player. Maybe even get T-Mac back at a discount and get a D.Wade or LBJ as well. Here is a list of players that will be Unrestricted FA's

Joe Johnson
Ray Allen
Manu Ginobili
Marcus Camby
Tracy McGrady
Shaquille O'Neal
Brad Miller
Stephen Jackson
Jermaine O'Neal
Mike Miller

Matt Harpring
Quentin Richardson
Damien Wilkins
Amare Stoudamire (owed 17.7 million in 10/11)*
LeBron James (owed 17.2 million in 10/11)*
Dwayne Wade (owed 17.0 million in 10/11)*

Besides the guys from the 03 draft this list looks like a bunch of oldies and the last thing the Rockets need is to sign some guy past his prime for way too much. Some of these guys are going to get ridiculous money and it's going to hurt that franchise for years.

We need to continue to draft wisely, develop our young players, and sign guys who can contribute. Do we want a won hit wonder team or a dynasty?

If T-Mac is a b!tch like Vince than he'll have a career year this year to maximize how much he gets when negotiations happen.

Hopefully he doesn't go for max money and instead takes a what he deserves and leaves room to sign another good player.

i'd love too have a team like that idk about scola, landry, yao, battier etc but if we kept some of the younger players we'd have a shot in years now and also the future
