You can NOT be serious about putting Oates ahead of 'Chief'!! Oates was a steady, solid contributor. Chief was a difference maker! Chief, through his presence, leadership AND skill, won a lot oof games, including TWO Stanley Cups!

Bucyk is infinitely better than Oates! I never saw Bucyk play (live!), but I know that!

quite serious, actually. i would rather have a playmaker between two scorers, than three scorers. just my opinion. and whether you believe bucyk is the better player or not[it is certainly debatable], to say he is infinitely better is a bit of an overstatement, don't you think?

John Bucyk is in the Hall of Fame and has his number hanging in the rafters...

Not much more to debate, really!

oates just became eligible for the hall last year, and narrowly missed getting selected. he is a lock to make it. oates had more points in less career games than bucyk, and is sixth all time in assists. only wayne had more assists in the nineties. who was the better player? hard to say, depends on what you look at, i guess. but i will take the guy w/ a thousand career assists as my center, thanks. sorry, this topic is very much up for debate. whether you want to admit it or not.

It's really not that debatable for the simple fact that one player is a LW while the other is a centerman. As for the rest of the posts you guy should look into cecil thompson or frank brismark for the all time goalie and milt schmitt and good old dit clapper there a reason there numbers are retired.

My choices for First and Second Team All Time Boston Bruins. All time means all time. Just because I don't remember the players that won the Bruins 1st Cup in 1929, it doesn't mean that they weren't "great" Bruins. I decided to separate the players into the era that they played. First team is basically Post-war and Second team Pre-war.

I also think the discussion of the All Time great has to start with Hall of Famers. Each and every player listed is enshrined in the Hall.

Also, just because a player had a few good years playing in Boston, it doesn't necessarily make him a "Bruin".

First Team

The single greatest Boston Bruin of All Time is Bobby Orr.

Not only is he the greatest Bruin, IMO he is the greatest player to ever lace up a pair of skates.
