Are u a giants fan just trying to prove lincecum is good? Obviously hes gonna have a better career and u shouldnt have to make a whole thread to tell u that

Lincecum over Volquez. Volquez has fit in nicely in being remodled in the NL, he would have never been a success long term in Texas IMO. But comparing the two is not credible. Lincecum, has the delivery and the stuff. Volquez's fastball change is solid, but lacks another.

Did not have any thing to do with the making of this thread. I get why you guys are tired of the lincecum threads.

My pick is obvious though.

Tim Lincecum or Jason Marquis?!

Do your fans really have to post threads to brag about how much young talent they have that's taking them nowhere right now?

The giants have won 7 of 9 of Lincecum starts so far..He has never given up more than 3 runs an outing...He leads the whole league in stikeouts as of now...How is he not taking us anywhere?

Its not that rare of a thing for Lincecum, thats why its something to talk about. Its also the way he does it.

also its pretty much the only thing the giants have^

and tim lincecum is twice the pitcher matt cain is, matt cain is overated vastly

as for this topic theres no question its lincecum. i see many cy youngs in the kids future, unless he ends up like prior.

once upon a time priors numbers were as sick as lincecums

are you just saying that because your team rocked him up in one game when the ballpark was more live than philly? at&t park has never played like that since the first day the park opened. even on cabrera's first homer he slammed the bat down in disgust, and had to clarify with the umpire that it was a homer

I'd like to add that Lincecum's really been struggling of late. He allowed 3 runs for the second straight game :pity:

I thought I would revive this thread considering these two pitchers are arguably the best 2 pitchers in the league thus far...These numbers are crazy considering it's both of their sophmore years :speechless:

E Volquez
9-2 W-L
1.56 ERA
96/43 kk/bb
1.17 WHIP
81.0 IP

T. Lincecum
8-1 W-L
1.99 ERA
92/35 kk/bb
1.22 WHIP
90.0 IP

And the edge goes to Volquez :( so far...I seriously doubt either of these 2 will win a cy young this year because their offenses don't score them any runs..

Volquez needs to get his command under control and keep the walks down, then it will be closer.
