Amazing athlete with all the tools to advance quickly through the system. His strongest tools are his speed, on base ability, and a power arm. Excellent bat speed with gap power. Average to above average glove at SS, very good range. If he fills out his body more, he may be moved to 3B or CF. Not likely to be a big home run hitter. Scouts loved him coming out of the Dominican in summer 2006, and he signed with the Red Sox for $525,000. Has impressed with his maturity and intellect for his age

You think we could get any info on his OBP too, just because it's a more complete stat than Avg?

MLB comparison-Julio lugo (post red sox)

Hes got a huge frame, and he needs to put some muscle on. hes been compared to a less-powerful alfonso soriano. hes got great speed, but not very good at reading pitchers, which hurts his SB stats, but thats expected to increase with age/maturity. Once he fills out he is expected to be moved to 3B or one of the OF positions, because of his huge arm. He has the tools to move through the system fast, but theres a few players blocking his way at the SS position. another reason he will likely be moved. he has the potential to hit .290 with 5 HRs and 25 SB. His power numbers are expected to increase greatly but he MUST put on some muscle.

tejada showed great numbers last year but since being called up hasnt done so well. but brought his b/a back up to .250 he has MAJOR potential but hanley potential is a lil 2 much to expect from any SS

Depends on what you mean. Offensive potential? Probably not. He's got a lot of development left to do and is clearly a kid in a more grown up league (most of the guys in SAL are 21-23 and he's only 19) so it's a little hard to tell. He's physically smaller than Hanley and looks like more of a double/triple threat.

That said, could he be a game changer? Possibly. Talking about him could be like talking about Manny vs Bay. The Ramirez in the equation is the clear offensive talent but the other player is so significantly better in the field that it may even out. Tejeda has great hands and an amazing arm at short.

after hitting .410 in his last 10 games. Tejeda is now hitting .263 with 2 homers 34 rbis and 11 stolen bases. with a obp of .300. that said. this man is ON FIRE right now.

Scouting Report: Top-notch athlete, lots of tools. Ahead of the fold in terms of age-advancement, but still needs a lot of refinement. Excellent bat speed with a smooth swing. Below average present power, but he's still very young and he could fill out. Plate discipline could definitely use some improvement. Also struggles with off-speed stuff. Above average speed, but has yet to translate that into many stolen bases. Average glove at SS, decent range, and a strong arm that's accurate but inconsistent. He makes most of his errors on off balance throws. Got some time at 3B in 2008. Has impressed with his intellect for his age.

MLB COMPARISON IS BRANDON PHILLIPS...NOT BAD AT ALL!!
