    Scouting Report:
Cubs: Last year, Montgomery totaled 69 2/3 innings in the first half. This year, he has 71 with one more start before the break. The lefty will try to finish the first half on a strong note after laboring (3 ER in 5 IP) in his last start vs. the Reds.

Giants: The Giants have won Rodriguez’s last five outings. A big part of the rookie’s success has been pitching to contact. Rodriguez generated 13 groundball outs in his last start and 11 in the one prior.

Suarez is looking more and more like the real deal. No ace or anything but definitely a quality rotation piece.

So they blow it in the tenth with a runner at 3B and one out, and once again Panda (and Belt and Cutch) comes through and bails the team out.

And yeah, nice job by Suarez and the BP as well.

Weird seeing D'arnaud getting a chance instead of Gorkys. Assuming Gorkys was unavailable.

Speed won this one. Hanson looked faster going from third to home than from first to third. Pen gets a lot of credit along with a great start from Andrew. Food for thought FO.

Sounds like Bum, JC and Shark still aren't quite ready. Maybe Bum is still settling but I can't figure what's up with JC. Did he have problems after the start?

Bum's right back to kicking *** and taking names, he's nothing like Cueto or Samardzija.

Cueto has not pitched for months so struggles are going to happen, though he should rebound. He was solid after the 1st inning
