Is the Nick Foles story one of the best sports stories ever?

Nick Foles' book 'Believe It' lands on New York Times best-seller list

After everything he went through and all he did last year he is now a new york times best seller... Its really incredible honestly. Where would you rank the nick foles story in terms of football stories ever?

I think it depends on how it finishes. If he spends the rest of his career as a backup, I think he'll just be that guy who won the Eagles a ring. If Wentz has injury problems or he gets traded and builds on his success he could be a Warner- type of feel good story.

    He's clearly the GOAT.

Meh. It's not Kurt Warner bagging groceries at one point.

If we were able to shuffle and replay last years playoffs 100 more times the eagles might still only have one super bowl. They probably lose to atlanta more then not. Foles was really struggling against the falcons. He had about 60 yards passing with the first half winding down and basically threw an interception that would of put them two scores down. Lucky for him it was dropped and the rest is history.
It is a nice story. It just goes to show you that you don't need to be great or a powerhouse to win. There is a strong element of luck.

Yes. It's not Jackie Robinson, but it's in the top ten.

    Agreed.
He is a very good backup who had 2 excellent post season games.
Impressive, yes. One of the best stories ever? No.
He had previously been a starter and led a team to the playoffs so it wasn't overly surprising what he did.

He outgunned the GOAT while catching a touch down and beat a dynasty... I mean that is pretty insane for a guy that was counted out and about to retire.

First off, he didn't outgun the goat. Manning has been retired for 2 years already. Second, he didn't outgun Brady in the Super Bowl. Brady had 130 more yards on 5 more attempts than Foles, and Brady didn't throw a pick. Third, people like you are giving Foles way too much credit and not enough credit is going to Pederson. The way Pederson calls a game, is a thing of beauty. I haven't seen offensive play calling that good in years.

Yes it is dumb that a backup is behind a starter.... We've never heard of that before.
