    Kevin Durant - DEN - 35M

    Mr. Durant,

Thank you for taking the time to allow us to host you for your first free agency meeting. It is with great pleasure that we present our pitch to you on the first night of free agency.

    You:
Let’s take a moment to assess where you’re at in your career trajectory. Right now, you are in the pinnacle of your career. The last time you entered Free Agency you had accomplished a lot. All-star games, all-nba teams, scoring titles, and an MVP. However you were lacking in the team accolades to ascend as one of the all-time greats. You took your talents to Golden State and in the past 2 years you’ve won back to back titles and finals MVP’s and secured your place as one of the greatest big-game performers in NBA history with your clutch shots. At 29 years old, you’re at the peak of your career. We know we can provide you with 3 main objectives that you’re looking for are. The opportunity to lead your own team and build your career resume, the chance to continue winning titles and finally, to expand your brand. We believe we’re the best fit for you to accomplish all of your goals.

    The team:
Throughout this offseason, the Denver Nuggets have looked to reshape the roster in order to create not only a quick path to winning, but also a large window. Many questioned our decision to move the young duo of Nikola Jokic and Gary Harris, but it wasn’t a tough call for us. Grabbing a talent like Klay Thompson, on a multi-year rookie scaled contract was well worth it, especially with the former 2 up for new contracts. Of course you would know that, given that Klay was your teammate for the pat 2 years. Klay’s in China right now so unfortunately he couldn’t make it but he did have some words for you. He said he’s thrilled that we made you our #1 target and he believes the two of you both coming to Denver this summer would make the transition to a new team much easier since the two of you are good friends of the court. Klay’s excited to expand his role within the offense and show the world he is more than just a shooter, but that his game meshes well with yours. He also thinks you 2 make the best defensive wing tandem in the league.

While Klay was our top addition, we’ve created a well-rounded but especially deep roster.

    Depth Chart:
    PG:Luka Doncic/Ish Smith/Quinn Cook
    SG:Klay Thompson/Luke Kennard/Malik Beasley
    SF: (Kevin Durant)/Nicholas Batum/Juan Hernangomez
    PF: Danillo Gallinari/Moe Harkless/
    C:Karl-Anthony-Towns/Thon Maker/Boban Marjonovic

As you can see, this team is ready-made to play as soon as you sign. We won’t need to fill out the roster with vet min guys and build you around a team of scrubs. We have some of the best depth in the league. Our backups alone started 177 games in the NBA last year! Every single player on our squad has an elite skill to provide. Cook, Klay, Gallo Kennard, Moe give us some elite shooters. Luka, Ish and Batum are great playmakers. Ish Smith, Klay, Harkless, and Thon will lead our defense. Boban gives us size. And Karl-Anthony towns…

KAT is the catalyst to our team. At just 22 years old, he is already one of the top 2 or 3 best big man scorers in the league. KAT can score from anywhere on the court, down low in the post or pulling up from 3, and he is a terrific rebounder. His rookie season was considered to the best rookie year since…you. Mr. Durant, you’ve never had the chance to play with a player like KAT, a 7-footer who can score almost as well as you! He would undoubtedly be the most talented big man you’ve ever played with. Just a reminder of the comments you made "I believe he's going to be a Hall of Famer in this league."Real recognizes real, and the admiration goes both ways. Karl has called you his favorite NBA player. Just look at the way he looks at you kevin!

One of the very few things you haven’t accomplished yet in the NBA is playing alongside young talent that you’ve groomed and helped develop. We know you love to teach the game of basketball and guide others, but you just haven’t been on the same team as some of the best young blood in the game. Not only do we have a recent #1 pick and all-star in Karl-Anthony Towns, but we have lottery picks from the past 3 drafts. Thon Maker was considered “the next KD” in high-school, and while he certainly isn’t as talented as you, he has a similar body composition to yours and very high potential as a 7 footer than can shoot the 3 and defense the perimeter. We have 2017 lottery pick Luke Kennard. Luke is also a huge fan of you, but also a talented scorer that can shoot the ball effectively.
Quote Originally Posted by Luke Kennard

    http://usatodayhss.com/2014/meet-luke-kennard
And then we have recent draftee, Luka Doncic who was an international sensation as one of the best players in Europe. His high basketball IQ at such a young age is the type of basketball players we want to add to this team. By signing in Denver Kevin, you could shape the next generation of elite basketball talent.

In terms of your role on the team, we plan to switch you between the 3 and the 4. We’ve collected a nice group of forwards that can play both the 3 and the 4 so they can all play next to you or behind you. Gallo, Batum and Harkless all specialize at a specific role to cater to opponent strengths and weaknesses. Gallo is our scorer, Batum is the playmaker, and Harkless is the 3&D specialist. This group of talent will ensure you get not only optimal rest but a reliable impact forward playing next to you. Just a reminder that you called Danillo Gallinari one of the toughest players in the NBA

Lastly, we’d like to stress that in Denver you will be the #1 man. Sure we have 2 other all stars in Klay and KAT, but their games are tailor made to be supporting pieces to yours. While we don’t have any interest in playing Scott Brooks iso-ball, you’re far too talented to be frozen out on some plays like you were in Golden State. We will mix in a free-flowing offense with some iso plays for you because you are the best scorer in the world. You can transcend above a superstar in Colorado. Denver is currently the fastest-growing top 20 US market (discounting the state of Texas) and the city is craving for a superstar athlete. A big 3 of Klay-KD-KAT would be the best trio in the NBA and the depth around the team would solidify it as the top contender for the title.

With that being said, we would like to extend an offer of a 1+1 player option deal for a total of $72,467,500. The terms would look like this

    2018/19: $35,350,000
    2019/20: $37,117,500 (PO)

We are offering you the 1+1 deal in order to give you the opportunity to control your own future if you don't believe Denver is where you want to stay long-term. We think we provide an amazing opportunity for you through the end of your career but we are aware that flexibility and control is important to you.

Mr. Kevin Durant....please don't let your memes be dreams

an honor to meet with you Mr Durant , we are just going to be straight forward with you we believe you are the best player in the game. Back to back finals MVPs you’ve shown the world what kind of winner you are. We have Anthony Davis here ready to make the best duo the nba has seen in a very long time.

Here’s our game plan, offensively we want to run the offense through you and Anthony Davis. We want the ball in your hands as much as possible. We plan to have you and Anthony Davis running as much pick and roll as possible, there is no defense in the league that can guard that. We also have Taj Gibson a relentless rebounder solid mid range shooter and a fierce competitor and E’Twaun Moore who shot over 40% from 3 last year to spread the floor. Our game plan is to go after a secondary ball handler and a guy that can spread the floor out for you. With Anthony Davis on the floor it’s going to be impossible for anybody to double team you at all, once we add the shooters we plan on adding the floor will be perfectly spread out so you can do what you do best. You and Anthony Davis will be something special.

Defense - AD is always in the running for DPOTY and is just a menace. Taj Gibson is a tough post defender that makes it very difficult for guys to get to their spot on offense, and Moore is a solid perimeter defender, we believe adding you and your much improved defensive game next to Taj AD and Moore we will be very tough to score against. With how good our set defense is it will only make things easier for us to push and attack on offense. We believe with a couple more pieces added we can have a top 3 defense in the game.

You’ll have the best of both worlds here in terms of being the man and having that secondary option that can help shoulder the load. Davis is elite at everything and compliments your game perfectly. You are the man and we don’t think there is anybody else here that can offer you another 28+ PPG scorer that is elite defensively. Other teams trying to get you will bring up how we have an incomplete roster, we have some question marks with our role players but at the end of the day we have two guys that know their role and have 0 problem doing the dirty work and hitting the open shot, and we have arguably a top 3 player to team up with. There is no better option than playing with AD. Let’s go win a championship.

We have a MLE to go offer a PG and we have multiple guys we believe that fit exactly into our plan. Once you sign we feel like we can go out and get the vets we need to compete our championship team.

Whatever contract you want from us you got it, whether that be a 1 and 1 full max or a 4 year max with a player option after year 3. We are also willing to offer you a NTC along with a promise not to even discuss an Anthony Davis trade.
$35,350,000 Is what we are offering you, let us know how many years and what terms you would want

    Thanks,
    Suns Organization

    Dear Kevin Durant,

Another year has gone by, another championship, another finals mvp and another year where you are moving up the ranks of all time greats. Why stop now? Years after you retire people will be talking about the great dynasty of the Golden State Warriors who have won championship after championship, lead by back to back finals mvp, yours truly. Players jump on teams trying to get a taste of what it would be like to win a NBA championship, and you have, and the opportunity is still here, right now, with the Golden State Warriors.

You have stated winning a championship is the most important thing, and how much you love winning, so why not come back and join the best team? Not to mention you love the community and fans of the Bay Area, winning the NBA Cares Community Assist Award this year. Why leave a situation like this? A situation where you are the best player on the team, have the 3rd best player on your team(Curry), and a dpoy candidate that can guard all five positions while being the heart and the soul of the team(draymond). A situation in which you care a lot about the community and have become such an idol to the kids in the Bay area.

We are not going to act as if we did not lose Klay Thompson, but hear us out. We have acquired Dedmon, who is the best center that you would have had the pleasure of playing throughout your Warriors career. In an era where natural centers are slowly going away, Dedmon is a unique one that is a good rim protector while also being a solid floor spacer( 36% 3 pt shooter last season). He is a massive upgrade on the Zaza’s and Mcgee’s of the world. We have also acquired Batum/Gallinari, who provide excellent depth at the wing position, with Batum being also capable of playing guard(sg), and Gallinari being able to play (PF). We are also actively pursuing an excellent 3 point shooting SG via trade, and if that will not be successful, we will throw our MLE at a good shooting guard.

This is the team you want to be if you would like to 3 peat. Become the finals MVP for the third consecutive time. Continue building your legacy with us, Kevin. We would like to offer you a max contact for a 1+1 deal, with a player option and no trade clause.

    Hey Kevin,

Just wanted to give a quick update on the team. In order to create a better fit for you, we traded away our two Small Forward's to acquire another young big man in Myles Turner. Myles adds to our team movement to get younger and more athletic compared to the older, more injury prone combo of Batum and Gallinari. Myles is a do-it-all big man who can score, shoot, block shots, defend the perimeter, and rebound. He is the perfect fit as a frontcourt partner next to you.

We now have a fully open spot at the 3 and created a roster that tailors to your needs. We also plan on bringing in a point guard to the roster to help groom Doncic and feed you the ball.

Denver is the best fit for you Kevin. A frontline of Klay-KD-Turner-KAT would be the top team in the league. It's time to start a new chapter Mr. Durant.

    Mr. Durant,

Thank you for meeting with the Washington Wizards here in your hometown. We know the fans are excited at the prospect of you joining our team just as the Wizards front office is as well. We know you’ve had several goals that you wanted to achieve before retiring: winning MVP, winning a championship, and winning FMVP multiple times, just to name a few.

We want to offer you an opportunity to be the alpha dog for the first time in your NBA career. We know in OKC you were the best player by a large margin, but Westbrook thought he was the alpha and was often times the teams number 1 scoring option. We have a pass-first point-guard in John Wall who understands his roll on the team. When you were in Golden State, the fans and those who hated on you for joining a 72 win team claimed “it’s Curry’s team”, “Durant is the Robin”, and insulted you by calling you a “coward.” We know you think very much about what others think of you, and joining your hometown is a way to silence the critics for good. This is not too different from what LeBron James did when he abandoned his hometown team to play with a top 5 player and a top 15 player in Miami. Non-Miami fans booed him and hated him. LeBron embraced the “bad guy” role much like how you did with Golden State. Then LeBron won 2 championships, just as you, and 2 FMVPs, just as you, and grew up. He wanted to come back home and win a championship for his hometown. You have an opportunity to do just the same by coming back home.

Here is what awaits you and your family:

With you, John Wall and Bradley Beal, the Wizards would have three top 5 players in their respective positions all entering their prime within the same timeline. There is no doubt that teams with good but ultra raw and young talent will try to sign you. There could be problems with playing with good but immature, young talent. Jimmy Butler has recently said something about this very topic recently. Instead, we have 2 superstars within the same timeline as you who are mature, hungry, and have been battle tested by themselves in the playoffs. With your addition and you being the clear cut best player on the team, we’ll continue to be title contenders as the Trio ages gracefully together.

The Wizards also have great complementary pieces that brings valuable depth to the roster. There is Markieff Morris who is currently our projected starter at power-forward and Wes Matthews who will take the backup minutes at shooting-guard and small-forward.

What makes the projected starting 1-4 so lethal is the two-way playing and team-first mentality everyone possesses. Wall is a pass-first PG who defends, playmakes, and shot 37.1% from 3-point last season. Beal is an above average defender who is a career 39.3% 3-point shooter and also averaged 4.5 assist last season. Morris is a bulldog defender who shot 36.7% from 3-point last season. Matthews is another bulldog defender who shot 38.1% from 3-point. Morris and Matthews fit into the team’s timeline as well. They are veterans in their prime who are hungry to help bring Washington a championship.

Mr. Kevin Durant, we are giving you a blank check and a pen to write whatever you want. If you are wanting a max deal, it’s yours, for any amount of years with a full NTC. Furthermore, you may ask that we not trade anyone in the trio unless you give us permission. Mo Bamba wanted us to ask you to take a $300,000 “hometown discount” so we could keep him and afford giving you the max. We feel Mo Bamba is the next Rudy Gobert, if not better, and feel he would be a valuable asset to the Wizards. At the end of the day, we told Bamba that if Durant wants that $300,000, we will cut or ship him out. No pressure either way, this would be your team and your call. You’re the one with the blank check and a pen.

There are more perks we’d like to offer you Mr. Durant. Here are a few:

State of the Art Gym with World Renown Doctors

We want to build you up to the best shape of your life to be healthier, stronger, and extend your career. Take a peak.

We are not only offering this service to you, but to your mom and anyone in your family! There was recently a Lifetime Movie made about you and your mother called, The Real MVP, where the actress Cassandra Freeman played your mother. Now, your mother doesn’t have to only look like that in the movies! We promise to make this a reality once we get her on a diet and into our state of the art gym loaded with our world renown doctors. Are you ready for this...

Denver - After getting Myles Turner, you're probably the favorites, however, my client would like to see you acquire an experienced veteran PG. Kevin is not looking to lead, he is only interested in winning the easiest way possible. He is requesting you find an alpha leader, as he is not that guy.

Suns - As great as Kevin is, he clearly likes taking the easy way out and it may not be enough to win a championship with just Anthony Davis. What else are you going to do with the roster to improve it?

Warriors - How do you replace Klay Thompson? Gallo only is good for like 40-50 games per year and Batum is probably on the wrong side of his career. Still believe we would be championship caliber without him, just curious as to what additional moves will you make to improve the roster? Remember, Kevin is looking for the easiest route to win.

Wizards - Are you suggesting my client take steroids, his mom is fat and he is an internet troll? Besides that, what are your plans for getting a center to anchor the defense? In addition to that, my client has heard reports of Wall and Beal not liking each other. As you know, my client only wants the easy route and being in potential toxic locker room may not be something he is interested in. He is hoping someone can be shipped out to better the roster and culture of the team.

    Mr Durant,

There’s no easier way out then playing with Anthonh Davis. He does it all. We have some targets we plan on using our MLE to grab a PG that can pass and spread the floor. The nba is going small and end of the game lineups with you and Anthony Davis at the 4 and the 5 would be unguardable. Turner and Kat are going to have a tough time guarding guys on the Permitter, the work ethic of Kat has been questioned by others such as Jimmy Butler and has had rumored problems with the lack of touches on offense. AD doesn’t need the ball in his hands to make things happen. You want the easier way out having a second superstar helps with that. Once you sign we guaranteed to go out and grab a 3rd option (maybe we go after IT/Rondo/Tyreke Evans/Avery bradley) whoever you prefer to play with we will target. Anthony Davis is by far the best player to play with here and is the only one outside of klay to play well in the playoffs. Kat got abused by a role player , turner is coming off a bad year and we love KLay as much as you do but being the 3rd option makes things easier for him. AD has always been the main focus of every defense, add you and now you have two guys the coaches and defense have no clue what to do with. As you saw having a selfless superstar in Steph helped you win 2 times, AD is the same type of superstar the other pieces fit right in and don’t get in your way. Let us know if you have any interest in playing with any of the guys mentioned.

    Thanks Suns

    Hi Kevin,

Thank you for meeting us and congratulation on your success with Golden State over the two years. Kevin, its really quite simple. From a basketball stand point, we think Utah is the best team set up for a world-class player like you. We love your flexibility to be able to play the 3/4 in the modern NBA. Here's what we have:

    SG - Donovan Mitchell:

Do I need to sell him? 21 years old. 20.5 PPG, 3.7 RPG, 3.7 APG, 34% from 3. He can shoot the ball well enough from behind the arc and we see this improving year in year out. He's super athletic as you saw in the dunk contest, and last year, with him as our alpha - we went 48-34 and finished 5th in a competitive conference. Kevin, you and Mitchell are the perfect fit for one another. What Mitchell lacks in size, you compensate. What you lack in quickness, Donovan compensates. The sky is the limit with you two as the 1A, 1B scoring punch in Utah.

    C - Rudy Gobert:

The second star waiting for you in Utah. He's a unique and extremely important talent in the modern NBA. With the small ball and ample switching, having a tall, mobile rim protector in your paint is one of the most valuable assets in the league. Gobert is the 2017-2018 defensive player of the year (like your friend Draymond was before). Multiple time all NBA defensive 1st team. Again, I'm not sure I need to sell him to you, man. He's going to take a lot of defensive pressure off you. We know you expanded your game defensively in GS. Knowing this 7'1 beast has your back in the paint if you do get beat on the perimeter.. there's nothing like it.

    PF - Kevin Love:

Yes, we added Love. We hope the first thing on your mind is ****, he's a perfect fit beside Gobert. Here's the thing Kevin, here's how we see it. With you, Love and Gobert playing the 3-4-5, we have 6'9, 6'10 and 7'1 respectively. With yourself and Gobert being good/excellent defenders, and with the length you three give us, this excites us. Mitchell is a young kid with a good attitude, he's not at all a liability and can get the job done for us defensively as well. We wanted to address that before we get to the obvious. You and Mitchell as the 1A/1B scorers. You shot 42% from 3 last year (holy ****, nice) on six attempts a game. Donovan shot 34% from 3 last year on seven attempts a game. Enter elite floor spacer (and more) Kevin Love who shot 42% from 3 last year on 6 attempts a game. This would be absolutely mental. Defensively last year, Gobert and Love averaged 20 rebounds a game between the two. Love is the perfect third option for you and Mitchell as he's shown that he can be more than just a spot up shooter obviously. Kevin Love was an all-star last year. He's a 5 time all-star and he put up 18.6 PPG and 9.3 RPG last year at that elite shooting clip. YOU FIT PERFECTLY with the aforementioned players, Kev. You don't need to carry us, you just need to be a part of the function.

    The depth pieces:

We currently have 3 depth players we like. Tomas Satoransky, the PG from Washington last year who shot 46% from 3 and started 30 games for the Wizards. We also like Jerian Grant the fiesty PG with the Bulls last year. Grant also started 26 games in Chicago last year. Both guys played about 22 mins a game - Sato averaged 7/4/3 at 46% from 3 while Grant averaged 8/5/2 at 32% from 3. We have Royce O'Neal who came on very strong in the playoffs. An excellent player to have off the bench as he can guard 2-4 as a good wing defender. He averaged 7.1 points and 3.5 rebounds in 23.5 minutes over 11 games, including five starts, during the playoffs. Mind you, he's also a rookie. Of course, if you sign with us, we will then focus on adding a point guard and signing depth players to go over the soft cap and remain under the hard. We will go all in financially, for sure.

The Plan: Have faith in us

You can see we have something exciting brewing here Kevin. Since we acquired Love, there's been buzz around the league as a potential new kid on the block in the NBA. We took the 5th best team in the West who had a 48-34 record with Mitchell as their alpha, and we identified a core: Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert, Joe Ingles, Jae Crowder. We intentionally let Ricky go. We don't want to talk badly about a players capabilities once he's moved on. We just wanted a change and salary flexibility. Therefore, we intentionally protected Donovan, Rudy and Joe hoping Ricky gets selected for the draft. Then the offseason became simple for us. We moved our 1st overall pick (21) to give us more financial flexibility to sign you. We traded Alec Burks at the cost of 21. We wanted to be aggressive and show you we're serious by adding a 3rd star to Gobert and Mitchell. With all due respect, we think we're the best team in the running in terms of talent.

    The Contract:

Financially Kevin, you have all the flexibility you want. We can do a 1+1 with the 2nd year being a PO. 1+1 player option deal for a total of $72,467,500:

    2018/19: $35,350,000
    2019/20: $37,117,500 (PO)

We will obviously give you max per year money with max per year increases, the term/length of the contract is whatever you feel most comfortable with, Kevin. We can also include a player option in whichever year you like. Furthermore, you will have a full no movement clause. Do you want us to promise you not to move certain other players? We can do that as well - we're just not sure which ones, since we have 3 other stars.

    The Perks:

Look, Kevin. We think we get the kind of person you are. Mitchell, Gobert and Love are chill guys. We want to create an atmosphere just like Golden State, where we have a lot of fun when we play because we're just that damn good. Play with a little bit of arrogance. You, Donovan, Kevin and Rudy would get along really well together on and off the court. We of course promise all the hospitality that your mother needs. You've played in OKC and loved it before - you left for basketball reasons. So playing in Utah really shouldn't be an issue we hope. Life is only as fun as you make it - not where you are, right? You will have all the exposure in the world, as its evident that the media attention goes where the talent goes. Plenty of marketing opportunities, especially in our cool jerseys.

    UTAH BABY:

We beat OKC 4-2 in the 1st round in the playoffs. We lost to Houston. You know how good Houston is from your intense conference final last year. When we were up 3-1 against OKC last year:

Reporter: When you see a team like Utah up 3-1 on OKC... they're a pretty good team, haha? You go wow, I didn't...

You: Oh I know, cus we got our ***** kicked by em twice, so I dont really look at that as a surprise. Not saying OKC is bad or got worse, but I know from personal experience how good that Utah team is, and OKC. The playoffs, you playing at home, those guys took care of it at home. Great players, great team, great crowd.

With Mitchell and Gobert having that experience under the belt - you and Love have multiple finals experiences and championships to add. There's two things we want to briefly mention before leaving:

    1) Quin Snyder: one of the best coaches in the league.
    2) Home crowd. Its electric, dude.

One of the best coaches in the league, one of the best crowds/atmospheres in the league, one of the prominent rookies the league has seen in recent years, year in year out DPOY candidate, multiple time all-star and a crucial component of those successful Cavs teams. You in?

    Kevin,

The Nuggets are willing to accommodate your request. We've gone out to offer Rajon Rondo a contract to be the team's starting Point Guard. While Rondo may not be in his prime, he is absolutely capable of being the leader on the court, especially in the playoffs when we'll need him most. You saw some action against Mr. Rondo in the playoffs, when he called for your number to defend you 1 on 1 in some plays despite being a foot shorter than you. Rondo will be the primary playmaker for this team and rack up a ton of assists on catch and shoot opportunities with Klay, low-post plays with AD, and PnR switches with you. He put up 10/8/12 just this postseason. He will be the leader on and off the court for this team as well as the primary ball handler to relieve some of the pressure off you.

Also, while our Myles Turner trade has been the major newswave over the past day, we made another move specifically targeted for you. We acquired Quinn Cook from the Thunder. Quinn is of course, your long-time childhood friend from the DMV. The two have spent your summers training together even when Quinn was in high school/college at Duke and he often stayed with you in the Bay Area. . We know how excited you were to have Quinn on the roster last year, and we wanted to bring in players to this team that you were comfortable around and looked forward to playing with.

It's unfortunate Golden State traded away your childhood friend in Cook, opted to let your wingmate Klay Thompson go, and most recently traded away Andre Igloudala, one of your closest friends on the team and fellow tech investor. For all the talk about the Warriors building a dynasty, it's a bit perplexing they let 2 of the Hampton 5 go, as well as your childhood friend Quinn Cook, and all they got out of it wee 2 past their prime forwards with major injuries this past year. No offense to either player but Gallinari was chosen to be cut by the Clippers GM and Batum probably would have been also if the Hornets weren't contracted. The current Warriors roster has only one or two at best defenders that are above average. Given the injury history of Batum/Gallo as well as Curry, are they really the best chance for you to win?

In regards to the Suns, let's just ignore the fact that they misspelled their star player's first name and blatantly lied to you that he was a former DPOY, but their is just too much risk in Phoenix. AD is a fantastic player, but he isn't the most durable player. While he hasn't missed many games the past 2 years, he's built up a significent list of minor injuries and "trips to the locker rooms" over the years. He very well could come down with a major injury at ANY time. He's certainly more fragile that Karl-Anthony Towns and Klay Thompson. KAT hasn't missed a single game in his 3 year career yet. Thompson hasn't had a serious injury in his career either. And if either player goes down, our team is still deep enough to do well without them. the Suns team literally depends just on Anthony Davis. Their 2nd best player is a 33 year old Taj Gibson who is coming off a great year but could decline any day.

I'm not sure why the Suns GM is so worried about our defense. Myles Turner is an athletic big man that can definitely switch and guard the perimeter for parts of the game. We aren't asking him to play the 4 full-time. Between Moe Harkless and you Mr. Durant, the 4 spot will be a rotation of players. We plan to play KAT and Turner simultaneously for about 10 minutes total, 5 minute spurts at the beginning of the game and in the 4th quarter. KAT will play about 33 minutes, giving Turner another 15 minutes on top of the 10 minutes he gets at the 4.

The Suns are also worried about the "focus" of Myles Turner, which is a joke considering Turner plays well beyond his years. You got to know Mr. Turner very well since he went to University of Texas as well, you called him family. Turner has made and started in the the playoffs every year of his career. He's no stranger to winning. It's also unfair to criticize the "effort and maturity" of KAT. KAT made the playoffs for the first time in his career this year, obviously uncharted territory for him. He's also been heavily overworked by the Wolves, averaging 3000 minutes the past 2 years so he was tired by the postseason. We're not concerned by Jimmy Butler's criticism, considering he has a history of degrading younger players. The Sixers came to us repeatedly about a Butler for Klay trade but we rejected because we want guys on this team who want to win but also help groom our younger talent. KAT was also expected to be the leading player on those Wolves teams, which is asking a lot for a 22 year old kid. You're our alpha scorer on this team Kevin. We expect KAT to be our 2nd leading scorer but Klay will be our 2nd best player if you join this team, and we think KAT will exceed in a role as the 3rd man where there's less pressure on him.

In regards to Utah, they've got a great thing going there Mr. Durant. But we've seen Mr. Gobert get run off the court 2 years in a row when facing top teams in the playoffs. We've seen Kevin Love get run off the court when facing top teams in the playoffs. Those 2 guys just have no chance to fit on the court together in the playoffs. Of course there may be similar concerns with our team, but neither Love or Gobert has the offensive talent of KAT, or the ability to switch on defense and shoot a 3 like Turner. We also have a dependable starter in Moe Harkless to take time at the 4 if the matchup calls for it.

We will continue to work on acquiring an appropriate Point Guard. We hope to hear from you soon Mr. Durant

Yes sadly the spelling needs some work but wouldn’t you rather play with AD who the nuggets claims has durability problems but yet played 75 games back to back years? He’s 24 years old and is only going to get better. We didn’t lie we misspoke, Davis is one of the best defensive players in the league, while the nuggets have a mental midget at center who has his work ethic and love for the game questioned by a well respected vet in the league. He got shut down in his only playoff series by a role player, turner is going to guard stretch 4s? Good luck. Rondo hasn’t signed and if you love rondo we can easily make the same offer, oh and we have one of his good friends on the team. He can talk smack about Taj Gibson but he’s a good role player that’ll give you a solid 12 and 7 with great defense. Come play with a top 4 player in the league over playing with flawed young players that haven’t proved anything in the league. AD is going to dominate why not dominate with him.

    Kevin Durant,

Thank you for meeting with us again. All these teams that spoke with you are not ready to contend. They still need pieces even if you go there. The way some of these teams are structured is just incredibly strange. Let’s start with Denver, the team you are liking.

    1. They have NOBODY to create offense for others. Unless we really want to count a prospect, that could be good in the FUTURE. However, we are in the present, and as of now, they have nobody to do this. You would have to run the offense 100% of the time, and when you’re on the bench, it would not be pretty. They say they’re going to get “x” or “y”, but they have nothing yet. It’s all talk.

    2. In this new age of basketball, it is sucide to start two bigs such as Turner and Kat. These two would get absolutely destroyed on defense, regardless who is playing the pf or c role. They are just a bad fit. Not sure what the narrative on Turner being so good originated from.

    Player A: 10 PPG, 7.9RPG, 35% 3PT, on 60% shooting, while playing 25 minutes per game.

    Player B: 12.7 PPG, 6.4 RPG, 35% 3PT, on 56% TS, while playing 28.4 minutes per game.

Similar statistics, yet one is viewed as a good player, and the other well, is really underrated. Player A is Dedmon, the new Golden State Warriors center, who has put together a good season for the hawks, which were the 3rd worst team in the NBA last year. Yet, Dedmon had a 111 ORTG, and a 107 DRTG, on such a bad team. How about Turner, a player who was on the 4th best team in the east? 110 ORTG, and a 106 DRTG. To add to this, the pacers were a much better team with Sabonis on the floor over Turner. With Sabonis on the floor, the pacers NETG was 6.5 higher.

Remember when Dedmon was on the Spurs, just before this season? A team that was considered to be one of the best in the NBA, just like the Warriors are now. Dedmon posted a 122 ORTG, and a 97 DRTG.

Now that we have settled that Turner and Dedmon are on par with each other, let's discuss the fit of Turner/Kat. Karl Anthony Towns is a tremendous offensive talent, but what he lacks, and he lacks it big time, is defense. I honestly am not sure what the Nuggets GM is thinking placing Towns at either the 5, which he will be dominated by every center as we saw Capela do in the playoffs, or they will play him as the 4, and he will get burned every single time by a quicker 4. This combo just does not work, and it's a giant mess down low. We offer you two great defensive players, playing their respective positions, with one being, Draymond Green, who recruited you after the playoffs and has been your guy ever since. Adding you, we will have the best forward defense the league has seen in a long time, with yourself, Draymond, and Dedmon.

    3. Their best player is Kat, and we know he can put up numbers. However, he has been criticized by former team leader, Jimmy Butler, for his work ethic, and his commitment to defense. Do you really want to deal with the growing pains of a young star who does not want to put the time and effort into becoming the best he can? Kat has always complained before of lack of touches, is that something you really want to be hearing out of a teammate? On the Warriors, we don’t have any of that. Everyone knows their roles, and you can become the alpha dog whenever you choose to, as proven by the back to back finals MVP.

Moving on to the Suns, Davis is a phenomenal two way player, but that team is currently a big project, as they don’t have a majority of their team figured out.

The Wizards big men situation is dicey, and Wall+Beal have proven they cannot make it to the finals year after year of trying.

The Jazz have some flashy names, but lack depth severely, and Gobert has been quite irrelevant when it comes to the playoffs. Losing Rubio is a huge blow for them, as he was fantastic for them, their defense got much worse without him, ingles, and crowder there.

Now to discuss the Warriors additions more in depth. We already went over what a huge grab Dedmon was and how he is a good rim protector while being able to space the floor and let yourself or Steph operate. We feel as you maybe underrated Danilo Gallinari here. Last year was definitely a struggle for him, as he got injured early on, and came back way too early, which as we know almost never works out. However, let's look at the previous two seasons for him:

    53 GP; 19.5ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.5 apg, while shooting 36% from the 3 and having a 58% TS
    63 GP; 18.2 ppg; 5.2rpg, 2.1 apg, while shooting 39% from the 3 and having a 62% TS

Yes he doesn’t play the full 82 games, however, even if we pencil him for 45-60 games for the regular season, we have to assume he will be healthy come playoff time, and that is when he will be needed most. He is a very good scorer and has shown to be efficient at it. He can also play either the SF or PF role.

We agree that Batum is not the player he was once, but we will position him to excel on the warriors. We will not have him starting and playing over 30mpg like the hornets have had him playing. He will take over the Iggy role, as being a playmaking defensive wing for us. His passing is still as great as ever, and will be valuable to our offense which is built on swinging the ball and making the extra pass.

We are working very hard to acquire a good shooting guard, but while we do so, we have sent out offers to Rondo+Joe Harris, who we believe would be great additions to this team as Rondo is another playoff warrior with great playmaking skills, and Harris is a good 3/D shooting guard/small forward. We haven't stopped working, and will continue to make this the best team possible. Thanks for your time.

I mentioned that despite playing 75 games, Davis racked up several injuries and left games half a dozen times with serious injury scares last season. He has had injury concerns in the past and his style of play makes him more probable of getting injuries. With the current depth of the Suns, he'll continue to be overworked and there's no guarantee he can be around in the postseason.

He’s 24 years old and is only going to get better. We didn’t lie we misspoke, Davis is one of the best defensive players in the league,
And KAT is 22 and only going to get better. Myles Turner is 22 and going to get better. Doncic is 19 and going to get better. Thompson is 28 and in his prime.
There was a clear edit of a post where they called Davis a former NBA DPOY.

while the nuggets have a mental midget at center who has his work ethic and love for the game questioned by a well respected vet in the league. He got shut down in his only playoff series by a role player.
Pretty disrespectful for the Suns GM to label one of the rising stars of our league a mental midget. A guy that has lead the league in minutes over the past 2 and 3 years and puts up 25/12 with ease at 21 years old. Also, we'd love to see where this question about his work ethic and love for the game come from? If the Suns can provide a legitimate quote from a respected vet in the league saying this, then that's a fair statement. But this seems to be media propaganda cooked up by the Suns, and to my knowledge was directed towards Andrew Wiggins more than KAT.
We can pull out a direct quote from you about KAT though. Your thoughts that KAT is a future hall of fame player.

turner is going to guard stretch 4s? Good luck.
As mentioned we will be rotating Turner, Moe Harkless, Thon, and hopefully Mr. Durant at the 4. We believe Turner is capable of guarding the perimeter, but don't plan to have him be a primary 4 for the entire game.

Myles has been on an insane workout plan this summer in order to slim down and play faster. We have no issue regarding his work ethic and ability to play the 4 or 5.

Rondo hasn’t signed and if you love rondo we can easily make the same offer, oh and we have one of his good friends on the team.
But the Suns haven't made an offer for Rajon Rondo? And the Warriors made an embarrassing pitch to him where they proposed an illegal offer, and then instead of making moves to fix their cap chose to lower their offer?

He can talk smack about Taj Gibson but he’s a good role player that’ll give you a solid 12 and 7 with great defense. Come play with a top 4 player in the league over playing with flawed young players that haven’t proved anything in the league.

AD is going to dominate why not dominate with him.

    Suns
Yeah, AD will dominate, given how little talent is around him. Does that translate to winning? In 6 seasons, AD's made the playoffs twice by luck essentially. They were tied with the 8th/9th seed with the 2015 Thunder where you were out for most of the year Kevin. And they managed to only make the playoffs by a couple games this year despite having another All-nba center for majority of the year, and Jrue Holiday having a top 5 PG season. If you wanted to create a duo that could put up crazy stats you would have stayed in OKC, Mr. Durant. But we're providing you with winning basketball. Klay Thompson is 3x NBA champ. Doncic is the most accomplished teenager in Euro ball history. Turner has played an equal amount of PLAYOFF MINUTES as Anthony Davis despite just turning 22 KAT was the best player on the unbeaten Kentucky Wildcats where he played in a system that shared the load offensively, which is how he would play on this team. We have a roster built to win.

Can’t do the layout the Nuggets gm did on my phone but I’ll do my best to respond to the key points.

AD played 75 games back to back years and played in the playoffs this year. You can’t tell me anything about his”injuries “ when he doesn’t miss the games. There’s a huge difference between turner at 22 who showed no improvement vs AD who has improved every year. that’s nice about the playoff mind, I’d love to swap turner or Kat with AD and see the team drop from a 6 seed to a 12 seed. The value between the players is so significant it isn’t even funny. Mental midget comment may have been too far but he’s shown very concerning things in his 2 years in the league. Sure he’s great offensively but he’s awful on defense and has had reports about lack of effort. AD has 0 of those question marks the man comes and plays his heart out. He’s had lack of help his whole career and carried his team even with his second best player getting hurt. AD isn’t overworked we have a very solid 2 way backup in Dieng, sure he’s overpaid but he isn’t a bad player. We also will offer Rondo the same offer that the nuggets offered as soon as we here that Kd has interest in playing with him. We are also not sure it is legal to offer the Mini MLE while you still have soft cap space so we are waiting for confirmation there. KD there is no better place for you to play then here in Phoenix with a superstar already in place to make things easier on you. You can go play with klay and unproven players or come here and win with AD and possibly rondo if you want us to target him.

You guys are spitting fire and my client is torn in his decision. Actions speak louder than words so my client would like to see some roster shake ups to show your organization's commitment to excellence. Nuggets are setting the precedent with their attempts, however the Warriors are also making a strong impact on my client.

Utah was a little late to the party, however my client likes the foundation they have set. He would like to see them acquire a veteran PG as well as depth off the bench.

Luka is the star player for Real Madrid, the 2nd best basketball league in the NBA. Say what you want about his potential NBA ceiling, there is no doubt that Doncic will be able to contribute to this team immediately, especially when we're only relying on him for playmaking and not to be the best player on the team

Our current backup Ish Smith is widely considered one of the best backup PG's in the NBA. He stole the starting PG spot from the $17 million dollar man Reggie Jackson. He is a very dependable playmaker with a 4 to 1 AST to TO ratio over the past 2 years and averaging 7 APG per 36 for his career. He may not be a star but he's been surrounded by mediocre players his entire career. He absolutely could run the offense as a competent backup PG here, so no you would not be running the offense 100% of the time

Also while we haven't signed a starting PG yet, we're confident we'll be able to bring in a solid PG with the extra cap space we have. We are fully committed to Rajon Rondo and guarantee at the very least that he won't end up in GSW. The Warriors won't bring back Pat McCaw either

And personally, we aren't looking to regulate you to a spot shooter like GSW did at times last year. We WANT you to run the offense and be our highest USG player. It's clear you are not the only one that can score on this team with Klay and KAT on our squad, so you wouldn't be carrying the offensive load. But a major criticism of fans in the NBA as to why Lebron is still considered the better player than you despite your superior scoring and defense is because of his playmaking. We believe that's a farce because of the fact that you played with a super ball dominant PG in Westbrook and the free flowing GSW offense with Curry and Dray who already had a system in place. You've averaged 5 APG the past 5 seasons yet people still say KD can't pass or be a primary playmaker. We want to help eliminate those doubts. With Denver, you can ascend to new heights as the undisputed best player in the game. With shooters like Klay, Kennard, Harkless, Bayless and the all around scoring aptitude of Turner and KAT, we think you could easily get to 27/7/7 numbers and make your claim as a true point forward and the best player in the game.

    2. In this new age of basketball, it is sucide to start two bigs such as Turner and Kat. These two would get absolutely destroyed on defense, regardless who is playing the pf or c role. They are just a bad fit. Not sure what the narrative on Turner being so good originated from.
Ironic, considering your last playoff series not with the Warriors was your OKC team led by yourself, a scoring guard, and a Kanter-Adams frontcourt.

We have no concerns about Myles being able to play the 4 for 10-12 minutes a game next to KAT. He has slimmed down his body dramatically. This was taken 3 weeks ago,

DAMN. THAT BOY IS LEANING OUT. Both KAT and Turner are extremely young, agile, big men. Their defensive issues aren't because they're too slow to keep up with guys, it's just poor technique, moreso for KAT. Turner has averaged 2 blocks a game for the past 2 years, and played a lot of PF for IND before they needed him to be their center.40% of his minutes 2 years ago were at the 4.
And once again, we will use Moe Harkless at the 4 as well as you Mr. Durant. Harkless is considered a great physical defender, and we believe you're capable of defending 4's at a high level as well.

Dedmon isn't nearly as agile as Turner, that's why he isn't considered as good. Myles can switch between positions much better than Dedmon. I think it says more about Dedmon that The Spurs let him walk for so little while they were trying to compete for a title this season. Dedmon putting up garbage time stats for the Hawks doesn't impress me.

Dedmon also never shot 3's before this season, so i'm taking his 3 point percentage with a grain of salt. Turner also averages more than double the blocked shots Turner gets.

Adding you, we will have the best forward defense the league has seen in a long time, with yourself, Draymond, and Dedmon.
Between Klay Thompson, Moe Harkless, Ish Smith, Thon Maker, and Myles Turner we believe we have a solid defensive foundation. With the additions of Mr. Rondo and you, we'd be one of the top defensive teams in the NBA.

The Warriors literally don't have a scorer other than you or Mr. Curry. If Curry's ankles bang up again, what happens? You're once again left stuck carrying a team of cats you can't win with.

And pretty ironic that the Warriors are saying they'd have the best defense in the league when they let go of their 2 best wing defenders. They don't seem to plan to keep McCaw either.

    3. Their best player is Kat, and we know he can put up numbers. However, he has been criticized by former team leader, Jimmy Butler, for his work ethic, and his commitment to defense. Do you really want to deal with the growing pains of a young star who does not want to put the time and effort into becoming the best he can? Everyone knows their roles, and you can become the alpha dog whenever you choose to, as proven by the back to back finals MVP.
Our best player is Klay Thompson, a top 3 shooter all time who has all-nba level defense. One of the best 2 way players in the league that can put up 25 a night a shut down opposing 2's.

Where is a direct quote of Jimmy Butler criticizing KAT? This is once again media propaganda and fake news being built up because of how few flaws KAT has in his game at his age. We already know how KD feels about KAT.

Honestly KD, what do you gain from staying with the Warriors? It will always be known as Steph's team, and the credit will always go to the OG Warrior guys. If they lose, the fans always look to blame you first like in the Houston series. You could win more titles there, but the team is already falling apart and lost 2, possibly 3 starters on top of its 6th man. Go somewhere else, and you'll remove the stigma of being a "snake". Fans will accept you again, and you can win a title as the clear cut #1 guy, and become the clear cut best player in the league.

    Let’s us know

Oh sorry, are the Suns attempting to trade off the one guy they built their entire pitch around?
