Upcoming Season: Rank teams within the division

Predict the order of the teams for each division:

    AFC East
    1. Pats
    2. Bills
    3. Jets
    4. Dolphins

    AFC North
    1. Steelers
    2. Browns
    3. Ravens
    4. Bengals

    AFC South
    1. Titans
    2. Jaguars
    3. Texans
    4. Colts

    AFC West
    1. Chargers
    2. Chiefs
    3. Broncos
    4. Raiders

    NFC East
    1. Giants
    2. Eagles
    3. Cowboys
    4. Redskins

    NFC North
    1. Packers
    2. Vikings
    3. Bears
    4. Lions

    NFC South
    1. Falcons
    2. Saints
    3. Panthers
    4. Buccs

    NFC West
    1. Cardinals
    2. 49ers
    3. Rams
    4. Seahawks

Seems like the toughest calls are the NFC West, AFC West and AFC South. Really any of the teams for any of those could win.
    First 4 years:
    Brown - 54 GP, 27 GS, 261 catches (63.3%) for 3,561 yds (8.6 AVG), 15 TD
    Landry - 64 GP, 57 GS, 400 catches (70.2%) for 4,038 yds (10.1 AVG), 22 TD

Huh. Wonder why Landry is getting paid so much...

there is no 5th to put them in

Also, I realize I'm a Vikings fan, but why do people think the Packers are necessarily playoff contenders when at this point they're only assuming Rodgers will still be Rodgers...and that that will be enough?

Interested on why people have the Cardinals 1st in NFCW. I have them ranked last, what am I missing?

I was writing my predictions, but had 2+ divisions that ended up being the same as last year, which is only rarely the case. Maybe I'll finish it up some other time.

But anyway, I had the Redskins 2nd in the NFC East. They just aren't a bad team and Alex Smith isn't a bad QB. They've made good moves this offseason, in particular shoring up that bottom-5 run defense. The secondary is still shaky, especially now without Fuller, but the team should at least finish 8-8 in my opinion.

I find the NFC North tough to call. The Vikings have a good argument to be 1, because they still have an extremely talented roster overall, and I'm obviously a fan of their new OC DeFilippo. On the other hand, I don't think Kirk Cousins can be that much better than Keenum was last year. I also like the additions the Packers made, including the new DC Mike Pettine. Mo Wilkerson had his best year with him, and Jimmy Graham might go back to catching passes for a thousand yards, if Rodgers is healthy the entire year, that is -- but if he is Green Bay has a great shot at winning the division. But I also think the Lions have some chance to finish at the top, if Patricia can coach up the defense. They kept the OC and Blount might help finally give Stafford a run game. The only team I feel confident penciling in at one slot in that division are the Bears as 4th, because I simply don't believe in Trubisky, at least not for 2018. He is still very raw and I doubt a new scheme can change that in one offseason. The defense could be pretty good though.

I think the Vikings are the more complete team and on paper should win the division.
But why wouldn't Rodgers still be Rodgers? He had a broken collarbone not a career threatening shoulder or neck injury. The Packers are definitely playoff contenders.

What makes you believe the Browns will go from winless to 1st in division?

I don't think they'll finish at the bottom but they still got a way to go for that.

I actually thought really hard on that because I think Smith is a winner.

But the rest of the team is just so meh that I can't justify putting them higher.

DJ back healthy, great D, Larry F trying to win one before retirement... and possibly the best QB they've had in a while even if it is Bradford.

Goff likely to regress plus harder schedule, Jimmy G likely to regress, Seahawks going into a rebuild...

I'm sure the Rams are still the "favorites" but Arizona is a fun underdog that has a real shot to win the division.

Steelers could easily implode this year with the drama ever present with Ben, Brown and Bell.

Which we could say any year and it hasn't really happened, so probably just wishful thinking.

I still have this nagging feeling that this year, next year, sometime soonish... Ben's gonna take that last hit he doesn't come back from. Getting close to retirement, playing in a division with some tough defenses between the Ravens and now the Browns (it looks like). And the Bengals are always good for some dirty hits.

I still put the Steelers first, but I can see why other people might not have.
