    Plan B for teams

For the teams chasing the big names in FA, what would be some good 'Plan B' for the teams in question. Mostly looking at:

    Los Angeles Lakers
    Philadelphia 76ers
Miami Heat (sounds like they want meetings with both)
    Houston Rockets

(Note, not including GSW/Bos/SAS since the 'interest' there seems to be in one guy and its unlikely they would be a high rated landing spot)

IMO the 'Plan B' for these teams should be:

LAL - DeMarcus Cousins (1+1) type deal). Brings the All Star 5 back into a franchise that is known for All Star 5's. Avery Bradley as a 3-n-d 3 guard and leadership for this team.

Sixers - JJ Redick coming back since his floor spacing was huge for the Sixers. Derrick Favors as a pick and roll defensive bench big who can start in a pinch if needed. Gerald Green/Jeff Green as athletic wing play off the bench since that was an issue at times.

Heat - Move Whiteside for anything. That's just flat out step 1. Clint Capela would be a solid move for them if they don't feel Bam is ready to start. This is also a team where Jabari Parker being the RFA target makes sense to give them a guy who you can give the ball and get's you buckets.

Rockets - Clint Capela is a priority no matter what. Marcus Smart isn't a great fit offensively, but defensively he would be a great fit for them on the court. Channing Frye is a cheap vet for them to go after as a guy that can spread the floor should the find a Ryan Anderson buyer. Jerami Grant is a younger Luc Richard that they can bring it to be the small ball 4, who's a defensive shot blocker off the weak side and a spot up 3 guy.

LAL - Cousins, IT- Both on 1 year prove it deals. Also bring back Randle. Should take a step forward, possibly playoff team. Essentially a win now and punt until next offseason with another big FA class coming up potentially.

PHI - Bring back Redick. Carmelo Anthony (if he opts out). He's no longer elite, but can play the 4 and can be that go to scorer at the end of games.

Miami - Just trade Whiteside. Make no major signings. Punt until next year.

Rockets - (no way they can get Smart unless CP3 leaves, S&T won't work because Smart will be a BYC player). I would just bring back the same team...If CP3 is healthy last year they're likely in the finals...Give it 1 more try as currently constructed.

He's refused to come off the bench, he's a shell of his former self, he's a black hole on offense and defense.

As for the Sixers my Plan B wings are Will Barton and Tyreke Evans with Evans as my preference.

    Trade for Kemba & Cj...

Hornets will be looking to move Kemba, so see if you can work out a deal. It's been reported that Portland would be willing to trade one of their guards for a big man. I am sure Pat can throw in some players to get his hand on Cj.

    Kemba
    Cj/ Wade/ McGruder
    J Rich/ Ellington/
    Free Agency Player/ Babbitt
    Bam/KO/ UD

Miami would be better offensively and they will just have to wait to see which teams have to make trades near the trade dealing.

lol so what are you trading to land Kemba and McCollum? Miami doesnt have nearly enough assets and no team is desperate enough for a big to just swap one of them for Whietside given how bad he is.

Will Barton is way underrated. Solid starter and can fit in anywhere.

His defense is bad and he's been very inconsistent. He may be like Faried where he looks like he's got better potential than he ever actually shows.

Lakers don't need a plan b... and that certainly wouldn't be their plan b

Are you assuming that a team would have to give up a golden package for Cj & Kemba? Please search out what has been given up for star players like Cousins & Blake.

Miami has more then enough to pull off a trade for above avg players like these (if a 3 or 4 team needs to be added, so be it). The days of over valuing so called star players are long gone, GM's look for the needs of their current team, or a long term outlook.

Kemba wouldn't even make an All Star team out West. Also Whiteside isn't bad, it's just that Spo and him bump heads. Spo wants Whiteside to prove himself by playing hard every play, Whiteside wants to be more apart of the offense, since he isn't getting his way, he is not engaged & acts nonchalantly while on the court.

I would like Pat to trade Whiteside (because of his childish behavior) & part ways with Spo, immediately.

well all i said was miami has no assets and Whiteside isnt enough bcuz he is bad, he has no heart, he has no motor and plays with a low IQ. You still havent said what miami could give up to bring in a McCollum or Kemba. Im just not seeing any worthwhile assets for either of those teams to be interested.

Plan B for teams? I feel like this would be a great start to a birth control company and making their way into the NBA via a witty commercial /product to sell to teams

I feel like Barton could be everybody's Plan B.
