I only say that because degrom is proven syndergaard still isn't a complete pitcher....We hope he will be and I think he can but he's not a sure thing....and 6 years of degrom after a rebuild is plenty for me

Garcia will no doubt just cruise for the next several innings. The next time the Mets even have a chance at a run will be the 8th or 9th inning.

Yeah really dumb if syndergaard never figures it out and pitchers 5 innings everynight.....if syndergaard was pitcher and not raw stuff then yeah it's a no brainer....you guys are putting way toomuch stock in a 4 year age gap when after a rebuild we will prob be in ANOTHER rebuild by the time degrom is ready to hang it up

Good stuff.....Very creative....Syndergaard hasn't shown any ability to pitch, he's always been an electric pure thrower. Degrom has proven to have the stuff of an ace and an ability to pitch a game. If Syndergaard goes 5 innings eveey night like his track record shows then why would you not want a 31 year old Degrom over a 27 year old syndergaard. You guys can spout age all you want but in todays game pitchers are protected and their careers are alot longer. In NY market a rebuild is going to be 2 years, I take Degrom all day for 6. I understand why you disagree, but I take the proven sure thing.

Degrom has the best ERA over the last few years after Kershaw....I don't think some of you realize how good he is...i'm taking a 32 year old surefire ace over a raw pitcher at 28. That's just me and my unpopular opinion.

And that is why you trade him now at peak value.

degrom was in A ball(finished the year in AAA) when he was noah's age. They have practically identical career stats(WHIP/ERA/WAR/XFIP) with thor edging him out on some of the advanced stats. The lack of respect this guy gets is crazy

Why can't degrom maintain that pace from age 31-37? This league protects pitchers now, would you not want one of the top 5 pitchers in baseball on your team for 5-6 years after rebuild over a raw unproven ace? Look i get what some of you are saying but I dont agree with swapping a proven ace over an unproven one who can't go 6 innings.....let's save this for another thread and watch the game. I respect your opinions and normally would agree but I'm on the other side of this one

We all know how great jake is. The question is one of time. He's 30 next month. A rebuild will take 3-4 years probably, maybe more. He almost certainly will not be as good four years from now as he is today. If they were the same age, or even within a year or two of each other, I keep deGrom. But Noah is 25 years old.

Syndergaard is no super hero, he is more like a wannabe.

He doesn't pitch enough innings in his starts and the jury is still out on him being a pitcher, especially when his stuff is diminished. He stuff has carried him to this point, and i'm not saying he isn't very good.....he just doesn't show ace dominance like degrom has. Can he? absolutely, but he has yet to show that
