Cano's suspension is effective immediately. His DL-stint will count towards the 80 game suspension, via MLB.

Tested positive for Furosemide, a diuretic that is used for preventing your body to absorbing too much salt. It is also used for treating fluid retention for preventing heart failure, kidney and liver diseases.

However, MLB cannot suspend you for failing a test via a diuretic:

He appealed the suspension and then dropped it? Before or after his injury I wonder. Nothing quite like wanting a looming suspension to correlate with a long stint on the DL. Oh yeah, heís guilty of this.

Also, a drug to mask PEDís? I can just imagine Robinson Cano in a lab doing his best impression of Walter White.

Not shocked, I honestly believe a good 50% of MLB players are on steroids.

WOW, really. Between this negative view of the modern ballplayer and your constant prediction of a game not being played due to rain, you do seem to have a negative view on things. You must be a lot of fun at parties.

Eh, I don't really care if players use steroids or not. I'm also one who thinks guys like Bonds should be in the HOF.

I just think think it's naive to think a ton of these guys aren't doing everything possible to get paid/succeed.

I don't know. I mean if they get caught they lose 1/2 a season of pay. I don't think there are as many as you do. Sure, some guys will do whatever they can to get an advantage. But knowing the penalties, I do not see that many doing it. And I am surprised Cano is a guy using steroids. He already got top dollar. He is a star. And now being caught, his career will forever be tainted.

The value of a dollar is still the same, taint or no taint.

Sure, but if he is caught a player loses half a year of pay. How do steroids at this point of Cano's career help his earning power? Doubtful he plays beyond this contract. So he gets paid. I think steroids are used because of players ego more than the money they might make. Or at least in the case of Cano, that appears to be the case. Not like he can earn more money. If anything, he can lose money (like he did) and also lose his chance at the HOF. He has all the money he will ever need, so I think his career being tainted would be something he would not have wanted to happen. But IMO, ego, not money was the reason for him using.

In my opinion, this is the best lineup we could possibly put on the field

Quick first 2 outs and struggle to get the 3rd out seems to be the story of the season for Yu (and Quintana?).
