The Red Sox head into the series having won 8 in a row and back-to-back series sweeps, albeit against two woeful teams from Florida. The offense finally proved capable of stringing hits together over the weekend, scoring 18 runs in the last two games. Rodriguez's first start wasn't very good but a resilient, loose lineup was able to pick him up. Though spring training doesn't matter, it's fun to note that the team is 22-2 since mid-March

The Yankees, by contrast, have yet to hit their stride. Their only series win was a two-game sweep of the Rays (at NYY) and they just dropped 3 of 4 to the Orioles. Sunday's loss may have been the toughest to swallow: jumping out to a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first they seemingly had the game in hand until Montgomery and German yielded 5ER from the 5th-7th innings; BAL triumphed in 12.

i still dont know yet how i feel about the team, it seems like a fun group but idk yet, we played tampa, miami, tampa. awesome way to boost the teams confidence and get early momentum

i feel we will get a glimpse of this teams character in this early series

With Stanton earning all of the headlines, Gary Sanchez has very quietly gotten off to the worst start in baseball. His .063 average ranks last in the big leagues among regulars, .006 behind former Red Sox shortstop Jose Iglesias in Detroit.

Sanchez is just 2-for-32 with a homer. What's bizarre is that while he has yet to walk, he has struck out only five times. That means his batting average on balls in play is an impossibly low .038, about one-eighth of league average. Most players in that kind of slump don't even make contact, but that hasn't been the case for Sanchez.

So when will Sanchez snap out of it? A year after smashing a career-high 33 homers in just 122 games, Sanchez can't buy a hit. He has been sidelined since going 0-for-6 and leaving in the 14th inning of Friday's loss to the Orioles with cramps, though he is expected to be available against the Red Sox.

110-loss Rays? Where exactly did that number come from? Oh, you made it up to make the Red Sox look worse. I see. It's especially frustrating to see this kind of thing when the OP called the opponents "woeful."

Are the Orioles good because they whipped the Yankees (3-1), or bad because they cannot beat anyone else (1-6)?

And the Jays? Are they bad because they split with NYY (2-2) or good because they have handled the rest of their schedule (5-2)?

My guess: they're both "real teams" because that makes the Yankees look better.

As far as injuries go, that's a nice little sob story that you've got going there. The Red Sox had something similar and they were told to shut up and play ball. So they did... and won the division. Your turn.

I think it’s time to put JBJ back in the 9 hole where he seems to be most comfortable.

I like how Johnson has looked so far this season starting and out of the pen. He could be extremely valuable to us.
