Home Opener: Red Sox (5-1) vs Rays (1-4)

Game 1: David Price (1-0) vs Rays BP, 4/5 at 2:05pm
    Game 2: Rick Porcello (1-0) vs Jake Faria (0-0, 2.25ERA), 4/7 at 1:05pm
Game 3: TBD vs TBD, 4/8 at 1:05pm

With two days off this week (Wednesday, Friday), pitching matchups are still up in the air. Cora is supposedly weighing keeping Sale on a semi-regular turn, Johnson, and Velazquez for game 3. The Rays are going with a "bullpen game" this season (4SP + 1BP game) and I think that's what the Sox face in Game 1.

Hopefully the Red Sox offense begins to get on track at home. The main consolation to the slow offensive start is that the Yankees offense has not really gotten on a roll either; while they've scored 28 runs through 5 games, 11 of those came in their last game. Also, the Red Sox rookie manager has been better than his rookie counterpart in the Bronx giving the Sox an early 1.5 game lead over the Yankees.

Reading into anything at this point is absurd.

Not worried about the offense, let me know when we have played 30 games, and see some peripherals and trends then
Jackie Bradley Junior.... that is all

It's gonna be chilly. Not the best weather for heating up a cold offense (not reading nothing into it...just sayin')

EDIT: Yup. Looking like another offensive dud for Boston.

Just thankful the pitching has been facing what amounts to a couple of minor league teams -- Price was once again in command -- but as the old saying goes, you gotta win the ones you are supposed to win.

What a crazy game. X and Hanley coming through.

JDM had a couple of moments to cement himself in Red Sox Nation, that double play really hurt. Only a matter of time until he gets hot, though.

    1st Grand slam in 2018! 0 in 2017.

Xander Bogaerts just destroyed a 3-2, two-out meatball for a grand slam. Red Sox up 8-2 in the second.

First Red Sox grand slam since Sept. 24, 2016.
