Stroman isn't trying to beat the big guys. Pitches around Judge and Stanton then goes right at Didi and Walker. Great work.

It looked like Aaron Judge was mocking Stroman.
“It’s about winning,” Stoudemire said. “You win, you’re going to get on national TV. Simple. In Phoenix, we won — Western Conference finals three, four years, playoffs every year. We won. If you don’t win, nobody really wants to see you.”

Just imagine if we signed Jose and Price to the contracts they wanted here. Even EE would of been another all bat no D type.

All teams want to be the Astros a team that built through the farm and then spend wisely when the time was right.
Which is what the Jays needed for a team that finished in last place for runs scored last year. When the Jays turned it on in 16 it was when EE came back from injury.

No last year the team didn't have the specs to those trades.

We're not going to see those exciting trades or signings; this is a team that is going to be built through its farm. We're actually going to see the opposite of what AA did. Big players traded for prospects.

Errr. Another 8 K's today from Gray and 0-3 with a runner on 3rd <2 outs.

Not at all. Replace EE with either Morales or Smoak and this team last year is a bit better and still a non playoff team.

If you replace Morales with EE they're a better offensive team, but definitely not a playoff team. Do we know what does the Jays record look like if Osuna has a season like Britton? I don't think the Jays lost all the games he blew.

Yea, EE isn't enough to carry all those injuries. Last year's version on EE on this team instead of Morales would be a playoff team though IMO this season assuming everyone is relatively healthy.

Split was a lucky scenario IMO. At least we got it done.

Nice win. Considering they lost the first two a split isn't bad. Stroman looked good. There were some encouraging signs from Happ also. I know this team has trouble vs the Sox for whatever reason, but hopefully they keep it going.

    They won 2 games and their 1, 2 and 4 hitters went 5 for 35 ...( with 6 BB's)

Great to see Smoak get off to another hot start. At the end of the day, its a great split the way they have started out in recent seasons. Especially against a divisional opponent at home. They got shut down by Severino and Tanaka, but beat up their bullpen pretty good after game 1.

I know its early, but they may need to think about leading off Pillar again the way he's swinging it. JD's sore arm probably helped them as it got Solarte into the last 3 games over Morales.

The bullpen gave up just 3 ER's with 14 K's in 13.2 IP over the 4 games against one of if not the best lineups in all of baseball. That is very encouraging.

Nice to earn the split. ^Great job by the bullpen like you said. What is concerning is that the Jays failed to cash the runner in from 3rd with less than 2 outs on 4 attempts.
