    4-3 Mariners. Final.

Wonder why Abreu was pulled after 2 ABs.

I think if the Sox want Abreu for a couple of years they may want to sign him to a 3-5 year deal for a couple of reasons. First, to make it clear that he is going to be the face of the franchise for several years through the rebuilding process. Secondly, to avoid going year to year and allowing him to go to free agency in 2020.
Historically when players like Abreu who are proven stars finally sniff free agency, it becomes hard to stop them from testing the waters despite team loyalty and familiarity. Money is money.

Personally I think he likes it in Chicago. Granted, the cold and the losing suck right now, but I'm pretty sure that Abreu can see the future, and it's still very bright. I have no idea what the rest of the season will be like, but at least by June Kopech and Rodon should be here. Those two with Lopez and Gio make a nice foursome.
Eloy will be up this summer also, and maybe the record and the standings kind of suck come September, but I think things are going to be a lot more entertaining. Another top 5 pick wasn't my choice, but I'll take it.

White Sox acquired OF Todd Cunningham from Pittsburgh, not sure why as he apparently can't hit, he should fit right in. In 130 plate appearances at the major-league level, the outfielder has a slash line of .207/.256/.264, with no home runs and seven doubles.

    Moncada with another nice game.

In all honesty if he develops I dont care what our record is or even if Gio and Lopez have rookie pains. IMO Moncada and Eloy (and Robert later) are the 2 guys we cannot afford to not work out.

I really like Cease and i believe he will be on the club next year from the get go.....I have been on record here saying that Lopez and Dunning will be better then Gio......But i would love to be wrong on Gio and all 3 become really good pitchers with long careers........

April had it's moments, but for the most part it was brutal. Here's to a better May.

Michael Kopech by Memorial Day weekend?
