I'm a homer, but for the NL East I'd say:

    Nationals
    Braves
    Mets
    Phillies
    Marlins

The middle three are pretty interchangeable though and I can see any of those teams taking second in the division. I don't think any of the three will actually win the wild card race, though. I think that'll be St. Louis and Milwaukee.

I can't see the Braves finishing with a better record than the Mets. Their pitching staff is still stacked and they have potentially a decent lineup.

    I would say:

    Nats
    Mets
    Braves
    Phillies
    Marlins
    2018 Vikings Draft :
Round 1: Mike Hughes CB UCF
Round 2: Brian O'Neill OT Pittsburgh
Round 4: Jalyn Holmes DE Ohio State
Round 5: Tyler Conklin TE Central Michigan
Round 5: Daniel Carlson K Auburn
Round 6: Colby Gossett G Appalachian State
Round 6: Ade Aruna DE Tulane
Round 7: Devante Downs LB California

I guess in my scenario the young Braves figure it out this year. Albies plays like an all-star, Swanson drastically improves and Acuna spits fire. Our young pitchers will have to produce too.

Mets have solid pitching if they can avoid injuries (which they are prone to), but I don't think their lineup is that great. In fact I'd probably take ours over theirs once we have Acuna. I guess if Gonzalez plays like vintage Gonzalez then they'll have something. Todd Frazier isn't scary, Jay Bruce has power but usually doensn't hit for average.

If we compare positions, I think we win (thinking along the course of the year):

Freeman v. Gonzalez = Freeman by a mile.

Albies vs. Asdrubal Cabrera = Albies should be better

Swanson vs. Rosario = Swanson should be better

Camargo vs. Frazier = Frazier is better, but he is really not very good.

Flowers vs. Plawecki = Flowers is better

Markakis vs. Bruce = Bruce is better

Inciarte vs. Ninmo = Inciarte is better

Cespedes vs. Acuna = Cespedes this year, but Acuna can hopefully be close.

So, at least in terms of lineup, I think the Braves are better. Pitching? That'll be the Mets I bet. I think the two teams are very close.

Like I said, though, I'm a bit of a homer lol.

I think we can say the same about the Phillies so I can't see a way to finish anywhere but 4th.

I would really love to see Ozzie be a 15 HR/30 steal guy. He and Acuna could be a really dynamic young tandem They alone make this season exciting for me.

Once Acuna arrives I say he bats 4/5/6. I think this lineup could be pretty solid 1-6 at that point. If the catchers can produce anything like last year, 1-6 would be very solid. If ATL can get any production from Swanson or 3B, thatís gravy.

I also like this teamís bullpen, especially Ramirez, Minter, Vizcaino. It isnít a great unit, but one other good arm and that bullpen is good enough to win. I like, not love, it.

That leaves the rotation. This is what will keep ATL from being a playoff contender this year. I believe we will see some good things from some young arms, but not enough.

I think they flirt with .500, but fall a few games short. I will say 78-84, good for 3rd in the NL East.
