Closer spot is wide open, and he could have the stuff for it if his control is better. Not a bad signing for the Rangers.

Watch him dominate out of the pen. I always liked him and hated seeing him fall apart.

In one inning spurts, he might be pretty damn good. Especially if his command is there.

He came out of the pen a little in 2008, that was a different Lincecum though.

In 2014, he came out of the pen a few times, and only twice was it in a one inning effort (he retired 5 of the 6 combined guys he faced), and in the playoffs, he was pretty good in the pen in 2012 and 2014.

    He might not be bad

Timmy hasn't been good since 2011.

    His combined numbers since 2012: 41-48 - 4.94 ERA, 654 IP, 4.26 FIP

I couldn't find the answer, but I am curious since 2012, what his opponents have done the first time through the order against him.

He also looks to be more in shape and throwing harder again.
