The Mets needed a 3rd baseman and for that salary, you can't go wrong. He's a solid 2-3 WAR player even with the low batting average.

The FA market has been **** for the players for the most part. This is the type of money you would have expected a player like Frazier to get in 2010, not 2018.

He gets to stay in New York seeing as how he was on the Yankees last year.

I'm a fan of this signing! It's a solid move for a solid regular player.

Dude improved his plate discipline dramatically last year. I usually say players kind of are what they are in terms of approach at the plate when they've been playing for 7 or 8 years already but this dude went and posted his lowest Oswing by 7 points. It didn't help him a ton but kudos for making a concerted effort to being more patient and proving that it can be done.

I do find it odd that he got 5% less first pitch strikes though.

Was he pitched differently or did he simply not go up there hacking at the first pitch? I always thought Fstrike counts any pitch that was swung at.

That's true, I took it as first pitches inside the zone. I haven't read the glossary though.
