CB and G in FA ... pay above market and front load the deals as much as possible. This game plan hasn't changed since week 15 of the season.
MacLean's Law: Everywhere you go there will be a jerk. Corrolary: If you go somewhere by yourself you become a jerk.

I don't care where anyone chooses to go in free agency. I really don't. Yes, KD "broke" the NBA for a year or two, but I can't blame him for going to the team that fit what he wanted.

The worst part about the Warriors winning is that now I can't have an opinion without being a "homer" or a "hater". It used to be that dialogue had merit independent of accusations.

Butler does seem like the top target.

SF ----> This may be the spot for someone to trade up for Mayfield. If not, I'm thinking Ward or Davenport might be the way to go.

Seems to be who the players want. It remains to be seen who Lynch/Shanahan/Saleh want. I am certain that they at least one CB in free agency. Most likely they'll add 2-3 in free agency and 1-2 in the draft. Right now they only have Witherspoon, K'Waun, Greg Maybin, and Trovon Reed on the roster at CB and they probably want to go to camp with 8-10 CBs.

Jason Hurley (the guy who used to run the 49ers Cap Hell website) has the team at $74,143,916 after the Garoppolo and Marsh deals. Over the Cap has us at $77,429,832 without the Marsh deal recorded yet. So, we're looking roughly at $74 million in cap space.

This is an excellent breakdown of Jimmy's contract. Paraag Marathe doesn't get enough credit for how good he is at structuring contracts.

Are they accounting for cap increase?

If I'm John Lynch, I'm cutting Zane Beadles and using the $3.5 million in cap savings towards one of Justin Pugh or Josh Kline.

Man, just checked OTC, Philly is gonna have to make some decisions coming off the Super Bowl, they're 9M over even with the 178 cap.

During an interview with KNBR on Friday, Garoppolo revealed the type of messages he’s received from players, while also making a strong pitch for the 49ers.

“That’s kind of how this thing goes,” he said. “Guys reach out to other guys rather than coaches or executives. Just in the last 48 hours, to be honest, I’ve had texts and messages from guys. They’re excited about it. It’s a place that, why wouldn’t you want to be here? It’s gorgeous outside year round, we’re a young, up-and-coming team, we’ve got a phenomenal coaching staff. It’s an exciting time out here in the Bay Area, and hopefully, a lot of guys want to experience that, too.”
    Already seeing dividends.

I really can't believe how quickly Lynch and Shanahan changed the outlook.
