Was reading Biggs's article about Fangio returning and these parts stuck out to me:
I think this is an important factor in this. We're basically set up like the Rams now and I'd assume Vic will have more say over the Defensive personnel. There have always been some questionable decisions by Fox in that regard. This situation offers Fangio more autonomy running the defense than he had under John Fox.
Good news too, not just for the sake of continuity, but a guy like Ed Donatell has been key for the development of this secondary. He's been with Fangio since 2011 and is one of the best DB coaches in the league. With Fangio coming back, it’s likely the Bears will consider retaining multiple position coaches on that side of the ball.

Mike Furrey hired as WR coach. Do we know anything about him?

Furrey was athletically limited but knew how to get open. How well he teaches I have no idea. But he had good technique and understanding of the mental side of football.
I’m ecstatic that Fangio is coming back and will have more control over the defense than he did under Fox. Now let’s go have ourselves a FA and draft.
I am one of the most pessimistic Bears fans I know in real life, and even I am excited about this offseason and the possibilities.
Again, I have to remind myself that I was looking forward to the season when the Bears got an Offensive minded coach in Trestman, then an experienced coaching staff with Fox, Gase and Fangio.
This just feels a little different for some reason. In a good way. For once, I truly hope I am right. Getting an offensive minded head coach and keeping Fangio is all I could ask for. Hope it attracts FA too.
I don't think I can get as excited as Pace is, but I am excited.

I'm really excited now for next season. On paper Nagy has put together an excellent coaching staff.
