    I think it's more of people judging if a coach (in this case, Jon Gruden) deserves the money or not. Gruden does have a Super Bowl ring. But Belichick's five titles (and counting) makes one Super Bowl win seem almost insignificant. But it's still one more than Bud Grant and Marv Levy, who are in the Hall of Fame (I think).

    So you have some extended stability as term as tenure. I like it, I don;t care what he makes.

    I don't get the assumption that he's still even as good a coach as he was when he left, let alone worth top dollar after being out of coaching for close to a decade
    gotta love 'referential' treatment

    Doubt his negotiations were easy, I'm sure he had and used every bit of leverage.

    An insane deal and ideal situation were what was going to take him out of the booth, he got what he wanted.

    He wasn't even a great coach before. He won with Tony Dungys team.

    And the Raiders playbook, which didn't change in the Super Bowl against TB. {LOL}

    And Callahan went to the SB with Gruden's team. Moot point.

    Of course. '76, '80 and '83. What else is there to brag about if not SB wins?

    So much hate.

    It would be cool if the Las Vegas Raiders won a Super Bowl, so they can say they won titles playing in three different cities.

    I'm not sure how this helps in the move to Vegas though. Are people from out of town on vacation going to see the Raiders because Gruden is the coach? Probably not.

    You think this deal is making Saban think about a return to the NFL. ? Maybe for 150 million?

    Gruden just brought in Tom Cable as OL coach. That's weird, since Cable used to be their head coach.

    Maybe but if Tony Dungy’s team faced the Raiders w/o Gruden, we would have 4 SuperBowls.
