    2018 Packers Players News

I am going to break these threads down a little bit so discussions can be spread out.

This thread will be for any news involving Packers players, whether they are signing new contracts, get released, get traded, etc.

Minor news Mike Daniel officially a pro-bowler, but at least the Packers can at least claim 1.

I kinda like how we did not have any legit pro bowlers in a bad year. It will put a chip on a lot of players shoulders.

Frankly hope we have no players playing in the pro bowl next season. However, even though a down hear a few players earned a vote but it's just a popularity and exposure contest.

On a side note wish they would either find a way to make the game better or just can it all together no one watches and a ton of talented never plays and or skips out.

It might be funny to watch mike Daniels this year. Not sure that dude has it in him to tone it down. He may be going hard whenever he’s in.

I was on overthecap.com and was looking at some contracts, the only contracts that would give us cap room and are plausible guys who could be cut or restructured are

    Cobb saving 9,468,750
    Nelson saving 10,218,750
    Matthews saving 11,337,500
    Bulaga saving 4,703,125

now the interesting thing with bulaga is that savings number is pre june 1st cut if he is designated a post june 1st cut the packers would save 6,303,175.

I doubt they cut or restructure Cobb, I think they let him play out his contract and maybe work something out next year.

Nelson I could see being restructured but, it would highly surprise me if he was cut out right.

Matthews is kind of the same way, I could see a restructure but, with the lack of depth at Edge I don't see him being cut out right

Bulaga is an up in the air type deal, I think with him being injury prone he could be a cap casualty then they could have a camp battle between Murphy, Spriggs, McCray, draft pick.

I would guess Bulaga won't be cut. During MM's PR today he said that Bulaga's rehab is coming along well. Didn't seem to give any indication of moving on from him.

Well of course MM is going to say that because as of right now Bulaga is still a member of the Packers. He isn't going to say "oh yeah I don't know how Bryan is doing cause we are going to cut him when the new league year starts"

I was just saying that if anyone is likely to be cut I would say its Bulaga.

Bulaga is helped by the fact that his pay is pretty friendly, it's not like woah, too much like with the other main three candidates, imo.

The only thing I thought was solid truth from him today was his love affair with Ty. lol

it's pretty friendly but, like I said out of that group he is the only one I could see getting the boot. The rest of the group are guys in positions that have a lack of depth.

Exactly. His contract isn't bad at all. His issue is health.

Especially when you look positionally. You aren’t getting a starting caliber tackle for the money you save on him.
