I think his defensive issues are overstated. Yes, his blocking is poor and needs work but his framing is solid and arm is great.

    1. Perez.
    2. Posey
    3. Contreras
    4. Realmuto
    5. Sanchez

Sanchez is a great offensive catcher but so are the other four on this list, and defensively he is no where near the class as the top 4. If he gets better, by leaps and bounds, in the coming years, I would move him up but right now, I cannot put Sanchez higher than 5th on any "best C" list.
    Screw sabermetics.

Sanchez isn't a bad defensive catcher though. He's bad at blocking balls in the dirt. That's a part of catching. He throws exceptionally well. He frames well. He calls a good game. Those are also parts of catching. Being terrible at one thing doesn't make you bad overall.

Yeah I thinking the same. If he can learn to block the ball with his chest heíll be fine. I donít remember who he threw out against the Mets but I remember he got them by a mile at 2nd and my jaw dropped at how good his arm is.

If you don't have Sanchez in your top 2 just because he allows a few passed balls every now and then, you're crazy.
