    Chase Headley, Bryan Mitchell Traded to SD

    @Joelsherman1

    I hear #Yankees have traded Mitchell and Chase Headley to the #Padres

    11:11 AM Dec 12, 2017

    Figured individual threads for each deal would be good. Leave the off-season thread for rumors? If not, feel free to merge.

    Wonder what we got back. Probably not much.

    Padres Reach Deal With Yankees To Acquire Chase Headley, Bryan Mitchell

    December 12th, 2017 at 10:13am CST *By*Jeff Todd

    The Padres have reached agreement with the Yankees on a swap that will bring third baseman*Chase Headley*back to San Diego along with righty*Bryan Mitchell, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post (via Twitter). Remaining terms are not known, but the deal would seem to bring some improvements to the San Diego roster while shedding salary for the Yanks, who are reportedly looking for yet more ways to improve.

    I dont know who "Jabari Blash" is...but who cares..although Mitchell was pretty good. But yeah man...now if we can get rid of Ellsbury, Cashman going to be executive of year AGAIN.

    He's an outfielder. Not a good one. So gonna go with a salary dump here.

    The #Yankees save $13 million by sending Chase Headley and pitcher Bryan Mitchell to #Padres for outfielder Jabari Blash, as @Joelsherman1 reports

    I'm telling you, I wouldn't be surprised if we go for Moose with our remaining money. If we want to swing a deal for a starter there's a good chance Andujar is part of the package. If the starter is cheap, the money we've been calling to spend on a starter can go to a 3B. Without Andujar we have no long-term answer. Many of us talk Machado but he'll have other suitors and command a huge deal that I'm not sure he's a good enough hitter to warrant (never even had an OPS over 900 in a season). Moose isn't sexy but he won't break the bank (MLBTR originally projected $17M/year and I could see it going lower with talk SF doesn't want to surrender any draft picks), he adds some lefty pop with solid defense and just gives us a consistent option for a few years.
