I know you're a Nuggets fan BK. Shaq is like the Mannimal. He's exactly what you want coming off the bench. High energy, good at getting those stuffs, etc. But their abilities are too limited for them to be a full time player.

That's actually an insult to Shaq. Shaq is a solid all around player. Faried will give you hustle points and rebounds...but he's not an offensive weapon...you can't count on him to create and make his own shot consistently and lets not get into discussion about his defense. Yea, the backside block is cool and all but he's hardly a good defender..not even an average one. And on top of all of that...he's kinda a diva.
All of these traits don't describe Shaq. Shaq is not "limited" he's simply been playing a boat ton of snaps and doesn't exactly have the twitch that Shane has.. Mind you guys...the only players that have been playing more snaps than Shaq are DB's...and yes..that means Shaq is out there more often than Von is.
Coming into the KC game..Shaq was averaging about 90% of the defensive snaps played per game. Shane has never played 90 % of the defensive snaps in any game. I guarantee you if Shane were to be put into the same situation as Shaq was...you'd see a regression in his pass rush compounded with the fatigue factor in the running game...thus making his run defense worse.
It takes a special kind of player to be effective when you're out there 90+% of the time for every single game and not have it regress another aspect to your game. That is what Von Miller is. Shaq and Shane are not Von Miller...so I would take it a little bit easy on the guy with this "limited" notion.
As far as this pitch count thing....you do realize that Shane is a high energy/motor player as well right? So wouldn't it make more sense to have the solid more all around player take the brunt of the early down snaps then have your more talented/quicker/twitcher player come in on higher leverage situations? Presents more of a problem than the limited player eh? Tack along that you can just group them all together at the same time then you have the best of both worlds.
Shane has a quicker first step, and has much better technique. Shaq out hustles other teams. You want the guy who can beat the tackle with technique to get more pt. Let the hustle guy keep his energy for when we need it.
Shaq has been pretty ineffective against the pass, so you're kinda proving my point. He's played far too many snaps. He did well, but he shouldn't be playing that many. Not even close to that many.
No ertz today

boy it did not take long for Brock to get hit...first play..
did we just use a ****in time out on the second play of the god damn game??
a little high on sanders but picked up the first down due to holding against him. It's something..

well looky looky...brock steps up and finds latimer on a crossing route.. in the red zone
holding on Bolles...takes away a good chunk play from bay-bay
and that was nearly a pick...
they are bringing the heat...we're going to have some issues with that front today.
No gaps in the running lanes either...Brock may have to go win this one. No pressure.
Check it out..McManus hits a FG. Nice!
Shane does have a quicker first step...Shane is quicker overall but it's not a technique thing that separates him from Barrett. Barrett is more fundamentally sound...that doesn't indicate worse technique. Barrett has better technique.
Barrett has played far too many snaps because we simply didn't have anyone that could back him up. You would of seen far worse play from Shane overall if he were put in the same situation..
boy that is huge....lets see how we can contain Wentz..
how do you give up a 3rd and forever on a slant over the middle? Jesus christ.
defense letting them walk right down the field.
We get a lead in the first time in forever....defense goes out and gives up a TD.
That's actually been a hidden factor this season. We really haven't had many shut down drives after we score.
You hang your hat on the defense...you just can't do that.
and even more penalties....
