I obviously have no inside information but I get the feeling that this was more girardis decision than it was nyy fo. Joe seemed burnt out.

I could see him take a year off and then go to Chicago. Wonder who we target...

I agree. Feel like it's more girardi than the FO who made this decision

Interesting on who Cash and the gang is going to go after for the skipper slot. I am pretty sure that every available guy would absolutely love this opportunity. Great bullpen, young players, 2 absolute studs in Sanchez and Judge and an elite young starter in Sevy is very enticing plus deep pockets. The only bad thing is that the media would eat the new manager alive if they do not make the playoffs next season or have a really bad month.

Anyone have Cash's email I am going to shoot him my application?

They're saying Cashman wanted Girardi out. What a little *****. I wonder what their whole argument was about. Girardi has overachieved almost every season. We made a big mistake. Yes he did some questionable things, but overall he was a very good manager.

This is disappointing, especially if the team fired him.

I'm sure they know who they want, since this decision didn't happen overnight.

I thought Callaway could have been a good pick if Girardi didn't return but that ship has sailed.

Did a great job with the Indians staff, worked with a analytical heavy FO, worked under Francona.
