Or it may be that they did not give him enough time to recover.

But you know they had to add den Dekker to the majors.

    Lmao

Not cut Ty Kelly or other scrubs.

Molina fast ball dipped to high 80ís and slider was no longer a plus pitch in 2017. He looked worse this year.

I found it funny when MLBpipeline had him in the Mets top 10.

They scouted him through the box scores, much like Sickels.

2018 NY Mets Minor League and Prospect Thread

    Baseball America had him 7th.
Did they scouted him through the scoreboard too?

Even if Molina never reaches the major leagues, this was still a really bad move.

Mets could always re-sign Molina, no?

    Yep.

Fact is...he didnít have a super strong arm before the injury...so this injury could be the only one he needed to lose his stuff for good.

Scouts were talking how he loss velocity last year, and his slider looked poor. Thatís a big miss by BA then.

    Why?
Granted dD and Ty suck balls. But Molina is throwing batting practice.

Because you can't possibly know he won't ever get better. It was worth waiting him out at the expense of a Kelly or a Reyes or a den Dekker.

Horrible move, even if he never pans out. We'd be having a different conversation if the roster spot was between him and a more promising prospect. But it was between an 8th overall (if I'm not mistaken) and denDekker, Kelly, and Reyes.

    Horrible move.

They mentioned how he sat at 94 mph in the AFL, but dipped to 91 and peaked at 93 in 2017 and spoke of how he focused on sinking and commanding the ball.

They still called his sister a plus and called his change as average as it improved during the season.

They liked him as a 4th starter based on his good control and pitch profile and ended by saying IF he discovered more velocity again, that he could be better.
