Ian Scott might be the first teenage goaltender to ever play and win a game for the Marlies. I'll have to dig deeper but looks like Sparks and Reimer might have both been 20 when they made their debuts.

I feel pretty good going into next season with a 1-2 of Andersen and sparks. Should help keep Andersen fresher for the playoffs.

Liljegren best ppg for 18 year old defenseman or 18 year olds in general...? Either way very exciting.

Defensemen. Passed Voynov in the last game of the year. we'll see if he can ramp it up next year and get close to Carlsons 0.81 PPG for a 19 year old.

For me, Mason Marchment really stood out. Undrafted player who earned a two way deal. Obviously Kapanen, Dermott and Johnsson really stood out. Exactly why they're playing in the NHL playoffs right now. Timothy Liljegren needs another full and healthy season in the AHL before he's ready. Maybe a season and a half. But he certainly looks like a top 4, puck moving D. Right shot too which is huge.

I think the goaltending was unbelievable. Certainly didn't see Sparks playing this well and to have Calvin Pickard as an AHL back up was crazy. Really like what I saw from Engvall at the end of the season. Miro Aaltonen looks like he could be the big clubs 4th line centre next year. He's moved past the Goat in my books. Really starting to give up on Gauthier who will need to pass through waivers next season so that's interesting. Just a solid year for the Marlies. They'll play Utica in the first round. I'll post the schedule later tonight or tomorrow morning.

It's going to be tough to win the Calder with those 3 gone. Especially Johnsson because even when Dermott and Kappy got called up he was the guy that ran the offence all year. Can't see the Leafs going too deep even if they get past the first round. *knock on wood* So if the Marlies can get by a round or 2.. look out.

The strength is the defense and goaltending for sure, but Grundstrom and Engvall have made up for the loss of Johnsson a bit and Bracco stepped up in the second half. If we have to play both the Crunch and Phantoms then it'll be tough but i think they have the best D group 1-5 (1-6 of dermott comes back) and best goaltending in the league.
