The Giants are in agreement with left-hander Derek Holland on a minor league contract, reports Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News (via Twitter). Presumably, he’ll compete for a roster spot in big league camp this spring.

Like this signing, hopefully he can beat others in camp. Best case scenario we can use him as a LEFT HANDED Reliever.

He had a 6+ ERA last year. What exactly is there to like about it?

I suppose we get to reminisce about the 2010 WS since he played a big part in helping the Giants beat Texas.

If he sucks in camp we ditch him for nothing, if he's decent we get LH bullpen help for major league minimumish.

Why do you want him to beat others in camp? Dude has been awful for 4 years. Rather give our young guys a chance.

Sorry in advance for the if and but...But if Lincecum can actually show good control on 92+ fastball and still has crazy change, is there a chance Giants sign him to minor league deal w/invite?

    I'd say of course there's a chance.

Without a doubt they will be going after him. But might get a contract with better incentives elsewhere if he is showing that kind of stuff.

Sooo... Kyle Jensen looks intriguing. Maybe he could do well in spring training. He has a TON of power. Maybe a Michael Morse kind of potential?

I don't see much appeal in a 29 year old rookie who didn't play at all in 2017, strikes out a ton, and has fairly middling minor league numbers for a guy well past the point of being a prospect.
